1 We show patience by listening, caring, and tending to the needs of children. We show patience by taking that extra time to help that one student or the few that really don't get it. We show patience by showing up to work every day with a smile on our face even when we just want to go back home and go to bed. We show patience by teaching by the moment even if that means not following that awesome plan we had for the day. We show patience by teaching children even when it seems there will be no light at the end of the tunnel. We show patience by not getting frustrated when dealing with a child because we understand that the child is 6 years old and does not have the experience or knowledge to handle situations he/she may encounter. We show patience by loving every minute of our job even though we are sometimes grinding our teeth while making that smile on our face. Maybe, PATIENCE was low for this teacher. 3 Like all professions, teaching requires certain personal attributes to be successful. Personal qualities that can help teachers succeed in the field of education include creativity, patience, a positive attitude and good people skills. Teachers need to creatively address challenges to student learning and adapt to differences in individual learning styles. Teachers also need to be patient and maintain a positive attitude in order to deal with classroom challenges. Since teachers need to form connections with their students and cooperate with other school employees, they need to be personable. Affirmed 1 Teachers need to be able to understand the expectations of parents and the community and accept responsibility for their students' learning. They need to be willing to form good relationships with educational administrators, fellow teachers and community members.
