Don't Get Weighed Down by Fast Food Did you know that one Quarter Pounder from McDonalds has 430 calories, 21 grams of fat, and 70 mg. of cholesterol? Add cheese to that Quarter Pounder and you add 100 calories and nine grams of fat. McDonalds is not the only unhealthy restaurant. Pizza Hut, Burger King, and Wendys also contribute to Americans unhealthy eating habits. America needs to stop advertising such unhealthy eating. How often do you hear of a ninety-nine cent special on a salad? Americans like there food fast and don't care to realize the effects that fast foods have on there bodies. Since, the media has such a strong influence on Americans. I believe that if healthy food is more advertised it will be eaten more. America needs to practice healthier eating behaviors. The media is all about fast food. Who doesn't know the slogan At McDonald’s we love to see you smile? If the media took a step back and focused on positive eating the public will react and chose a healthier lifestyle. It is not a surprise that fast food has become a way of life in America. Every day about a quarter of the adult population in United States visits the fast food restaurant. Every month about 90 percent of children aged 3-9 visits McDonald's. According to internet research, Americans spend more than $110 billion a year on the fast food. So obviously the only good thing I think that comes out of fast food restaurants is that since it is a growing epidemic, results would be more people employed. On the other hand, more and more fast food places would be everywhere, making it easier for people to succumb to the temptation of the delicious fast food. The truth of the matter is, fast food is killing us slowly. Do yourself and fellow Americans a favor and don’t eat at such lousy food places. Don’t let the media win you over. Take a stand for your health. It is never too late to break
