I believe in a culture of transparency because it creates a feeling of confidence; when you are honest in your personal and professional life you reflect an image of integrity and trustworthiness. Strengths and Ethical Aspirations My strengths are my firm beliefs for equality and sensibility. In nursing we make decisions every day concerning the care planning, treatment, and disposition of the patient; today we have to consider the community at large when we are caring for the individual patient and the family considering their wellbeing along with the population. It is a sense of harmony for all involved in the population taking care and being sensible to the individual needs of each patient rather than the community at large. In my personal life I believe that we should treat each other the way we will like to be treated; with dignity and respect.
The hospital has a legal and moral obligation to allow Eileen to provide as much as she can to their patients including services for free powdered milk, car seats, cribs, bus passes, and the list goes on. That is why our unit has our very own Social Worker that is entirely for our unit alone. Eileen told me that for the most part, she is happy to assist anyone with these items and the other services available, just every now and then she finds patients that just want something for nothing. Eileen, who has been on the Family Birth Place

* 1.2 explain how effective communication effects all aspects of own work. Residents- all residents have different needs and abilities if effective communication is established then it creates a more enjoyable healthier environment for everyone. We as carers can establish what each resident needs as an individual and can be sure that we are giving the correct help to those who are in need of it. Staff- Affective communication in the home affects the whole staff team in a positive way as everybody works well together and they know what their job roles and responsibilities are, they also know the different routines within the different shifts and are able to stick to these so the resident’s day does not become disturbed. It is essential in a workplace like a residential home to have efficient communication because without it the home would not run smoothly, and could have disastrous consequences i.e.
3.2 There are many proven ways to raise awareness of diversity, equality and exclusion. This could be one to one, colleague to colleague or colleague to patient. It could also be done through staff training. For example in February 2013 one of our experienced Staff Nurses held a ward meeting and did a presentation on diversity and equality. This was very informative and gave staff members a refresh on the subject which we all found to be a massive benefit to our role and everyday we work with other members of our team, colleagues from other departments in the hospital and also patients.
‘Our trust has achieved a culture that allows all staff to flourish’ In the beginning of this article it grabs my attention because I have worked with nurses in my career in the military as a hospital corpsman. I also feel this article relates to any job out in the society today that battles the same issues. As stated in the article, “According to the survey by Nursing Standard to mark Black History Month suggests that barriers still hinder some BME staff.” To me this shows the diversity they are trying to overcome and adapt to these barriers or obstacles. I see they are inspired to move on and try to better themselves. I also agree with the respondents response which was they all agreed there should be training or a correspondence “to care
