The blind-self personality refers to characters that supervisors wrongly assume they possess. Discrepancies occur when supervisors think that their blind self is their public self. The public self refers to characters that supervisors correctly assume they possess. This can eventually leads to problems that stem from such leadership. For instance, a supervisor may perceive themselves as having a negotiating and encouraging personality. In this scenario, the supervisor may think that he or she is working collaboratively with the teachers. This is because having a negotiating personality translates to the supervisor engaging in activities like leading discussions with teachers. This way, issues are usually discussed in a systematic manner allowing for the assessment of any advantages or disadvantages associated with each suggested plan of action. When observed closely, the supervisor might be exhibiting a directing blind-self personality. There are situations where a supervisor might come up with various solutions to an impending problem. He or she goes on to lay out these suggestions and then let the teachers to choose what they think best suits them. A blind-self personality may reach an extreme level to a point where the supervisor imposes the rules and decisions without consulting the teachers. Members of staff working with such a supervisor end up feeling neglected with no room to air their opinions and suggestions. This brews a negative work environment killing the morale of the workers. There are supervisors that I have come across who have very poor message delivery skills. Their instructions and guidelines are never clear. In this case, such messages mostly include information on how to implement new projects or problem
