Why Do People Buy There is a psychological connection between what motivates a person to buy and how it is interrelated to solving a problem. If the people like the product and it serves a purpose then they buy it. When people have issues with safety in their home that triggers an invisible force in them that there is a need and drives their consumer consumption. People would then more than likely go out and purchase products such as alarm systems, or smoke detectors depending on the situation. When people want to belong or identify with a certain group in society they imitate what they see. Their consumption level would be driven by buying the same brand clothes or driving the same type of car to be able to fit in or be identified with the group. That is one of the motivating forces behind the purchasing decision of people. Consumer behavior consumption is motivated or driven by people’s perception of how obtaining or having certain products will solve a need or problem. Solving what people need is the ultimate solution to what products and services they will buy. People buy products and services based on what they perceive are missing or where there is a void in their life. The people’s problem helps to determine what products people will buy to satisfy their needs. When the consumer identifies a problem that will help to determine what the people needs are and what they will buy. Consumer behavior consumption is also ultimately driven in people by their emotions, personalities, and how they feel about a product and what need it satisfies.
