I have made many friends including Cadet/Private Sommermeyer and Cadet/Private Tatum. These many friends extend beyond the JROTC classroom and will no doubt be there when I most need them to be. Another thing ROTC is good for is community service hours. My counselor has already given me a community service worksheet to fill out whenever I do something and she says it will help me get into a much better college and will also look good on my Job/college application. JROTC also inspires me to work hard in school and out of school.
College 101 Why I chose to attend college: I chose to attend college because I have wanted to for many years now. I have always felt that going to college would help me to be able to fulfill my purpose in life. I have future plans to make a difference in the world, and for me personally I feel that college is a necessity to achieve this. I want to achieve my own personal goals of getting my Associates Degree from Lackawanna, then continuing on at another school to get my Bachelor’s Degree in social work. I have future plans of becoming a counselor or a life coach, I plan to make the final decision on which one when I have had a chance to practice as an intern; That is how I think I will learn better which one is more suitable for me personally.
They had enjoyed their experience and wanted to do more for the shelter. Not only is community service fun and rewarding, it also looks great on a resume or college application. Sometimes community service is even required for high school graduation. Last year in my life skills class my teacher often talked about community service and making a difference. One of papers we had to write was about if we thought requiring students at a university to complete 75 hours of community service was a good idea.
Having financial problems played a factor also in my returning to school. Being a single parent, with no support, I knew that I had to make some drastic changes. I have to joggle so many tasks each day and it can be hard. My family motivates me not to give up on my academic goals because I know it is something I have to do. Additionally, having a better income to support me and my family would be nice.
I have always wanted to pursue a career in the computer technology field. Achieving my Associates degree will definitely improve on some of the skills I already know and have gained for myself. I want to interact with people who are in this field of study.” I believe” this will perhaps surround me with people who may play an important role in my future success. Education is healthy for the brain, higher education will certainly sharpen my mind and give me the discipline I need. The reason I have chosen to further my
So there are so many benefits to putting in the extra mile and achieving the goal of a college degree and in return, living the American dream. Although I could have taken other courses that fell under speech, I chose this one because I thought it to be more beneficial in my personal and career development, which comes to my second reason. I took this class for personal and career growth. Throughout my years in the real-world, all my jobs have been centered towards the public. I guess that is why I switched my major from Business Administration to Public Safety Administration. Dealing with the public you are always going to have to communicate in some way or form, just as you would on a day to day basis when you interact with others; children, spouse, co-workers, family, and/or friends.
My fathers departure was a major turning point in my life, it changed a lot of things for me and was very emotional. And just like Odysseus return, when he came back it was even more emotional and it was even a bit strange learning to live with him being present in the household each day. Some of the tasks I took on or had become responsible for where no longer required of me. Also, I noticed my mother was always very concerned for me, being her only son, and didn't want to see me grow up. When Tele.
The doctors told him that he will be in the wheel chair for the rest of his life but he was determined to regain his strength and movement. How can one attain this disorder? The specialists struggled to find out the cause of this disorder for decades and there is still no answer. In Ian’s case, this disorder was acquired through the gastric flu because the antibodies to the infection attacked his body. His mother was assuming it was because Ian had a busy work schedule, he worked many difficult shifts.
As the years went by, I got serious about the program. My senior year I became DECA President and that’s when I really started to think about looking into universities with a good business program. As things started to get more difficult and hectic, I thought about just starting at the bottom and working my way up to what I want to do as far as my career. As you can see, that’s how I ended up at Jackson State Community college and I am majoring in Business Administration. Then, I plan to transfer to the University of Tennessee at Martin to get
