Community Service Essay For my community service project I volunteered with helping dogs at the Peninsula Humane Society, in Burlingame. I felt great about volunteering with this group because, I learned many things throughout the process and it had a significant personal impact on me. I love animals, I was ecstatic about working at the Humane Society. I love animals and although they have shelter, they still need emotional and physical attention from people or other animals in order to live a happy life. The experience opened my eyes to the fact that shelter animals especially, need love and care.
My high school does a mandatory community service every year and I can honestly say it brings out the good in people. I support community service a hundred percent. You will notice a difference in the kids that serve and the ones that don't. I hope all schools keep mandating community
Victoria DiGiovanni The majority of high schools are now requiring a certain amount of community service hours in order to graduate. Most students see this as a chore, but just how beneficial is it? Community service improves the student’s character, exposes the student to new interests, and benefits the student’s future. Mandatory community service enhances these advantages. A student’s participation in various activities throughout the community opens the door to not only a better society, but also an improvement in the student’s morality and character.
The first reason is because a lot of people want a job that will pay very good money. By going to college, you will have the hands-on learning education you need to start your chosen career. This is a huge reason why a lot of careers require you to have at least a two or four year degree. Another reason why college matters is because it helps students boost their confidence level out in the real world. There are countless things that people have to do every single day in life so going college will help give you a better idea of what the definition of life really is.
I was able to go beyond the wall of commodity and experience true friendships. Before the internship, I wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do after high school but as I started to begin to get comfortable at the internship, I realized that my true passion is kids so I want to be a social worker who deals with children. One who puts the child’s life before theirs and loves what they do. Because I was an intern at NCCF, I acquired many skills that I did not know I have as well as abilities and characteristics. I realized that I am extremely passionate about life and helping others.
Choosing a career that I want to spend the rest of my life doing was something that was extremely easy for me to figure out. My love for animals has always been the one constant in my life. I have always had pets and could not imagine what life would be like without animals in my life, so working with animals is something I know I will always be passionate about. I want a career that is going to challenge me and give me the opportunity to experience and learn new things every day and I want to be able to make a difference in the lives of animals. Also, I want to help educate the public about the proper care of animals.
First of all, many students have after school jobs that they have to maintain. Some families rely on their kids to provide either for themselves or for their families. An extra two hours of school might not allow kids the ability to juggle school and work at the same time. Also if the school day is two hours longer, students that work will not have enough time to maintain a social life or even be able to keep their jobs. Extending the school day may do more harm than good.
Many volunteers are specifically trained in the areas they work in, such as medicine, education etc. Other volunteers serve on an as-needed basis, such as in response to a natural disaster. I contributed my time, skills and effort to the early childhood center and they were very receptive of my presence. The kids were very enthusiastic about me being around them: however I played with them until it was time to get the work done. The various tasks were given to me to carry out.
Many think that community involvement is just something you are forced to do to graduate. They participate in community involvement because they have to, but I do it because I want to. Community involvement is a way of giving back to community. I like making people feel as though they matter, and it gives me a warm feeling at the end of the day because I know I have made a difference. Community involvement is very important.
From the people who plan the events and lead the people under them to what they are doing, to the people working for them to make their community better. It makes it so much better mentally when it goes perfectly and everyone including the people who work are happy. You learn so many life skills from what you do when you work to make your community a better place. My sophomore year of high school.
