The reason why I am attending college In today’s hard economy it is not easy to find a good job without a college degree. A high school diploma does not meet the standards of what most jobs require to find a decent job with a decent pay in order to survive in this rough economy. When I was in high school I struggled a lot while deciding whether I want to go to a cosmetology school, a university, or a community college. I was able to make the right choice for me at the end. When I was in middle school, I decided that I was going to cosmetology school to become a hair stylist and nail professional. When I thought about it, I was thinking that everything was so difficult for me to do since I was a student in special education. While in middle school I always thought that I would never see myself going to a university or a community college. At that moment I just didn’t care about it. My sophomore year I got into a club called “DECA”, which stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America. It is a marketing club for student who are interested in the business field. As that year went through I thought to myself that opening up a beauty salon would be a good idea. Thinking about opening my own business one day was one of my choices but I still wasn’t sure on what I really wanted to do after I graduated from high school. As the years went by, I got serious about the program. My senior year I became DECA President and that’s when I really started to think about looking into universities with a good business program. As things started to get more difficult and hectic, I thought about just starting at the bottom and working my way up to what I want to do as far as my career. As you can see, that’s how I ended up at Jackson State Community college and I am majoring in Business Administration. Then, I plan to transfer to the University of Tennessee at Martin to get
