Have you ever walked into a restaurant expecting one thing and received the polar opposite? I experienced this myself with the Oyster Pub in sunny Daytona Beach Florida. The loud sports bar environment, which served peanuts from a barrel, was far from the beach-like seafood dining I had pictured. The Oyster Pub met very few of my expectations from atmosphere, to cleanliness, to food and service. This touristy Pub, located less then one-hundred yards from the Atlantic coast is an attention seeker to many. Although its location is admirable, finding a spot to park can be very hectic. The parallel parking avenue has few spaces to park your vehicle especially during the lunch and dinner rush. If you dare to dine at the Oyster Pub during the season of NFL football you may be alarmed at the character and personality of the rowdy customers. When first opening the fifteen foot double doors, your eyes immediately gravitate towards the several sixty-four inch flat screen televisions. Keeping in mind the Oyster Pub is well known for their seafood, I ordered a dozen steamed clams served with melted butter, fresh lemons, and cocktail sauce. The small rather chewy clams were dry and unappetizing, leaving my mouth with a bitter taste. My sister was tossed between the steamed sampler including snow crab legs, oysters, shrimp and clams served with Cole slaw and the medium Buffalo style wings. Avoiding the seafood she chose the wings that looked like they were sitting in the kitchen window for forty-five minutes before being served. The pasty textured sauce drenched the chicken wings making the entrée look inedible. To wash down the tasteless food, we both ordered a tall glass of Dr. Pepper that satisfied every need for the first time that
