Yuchen Ji (Ariel) EAP 150 Prof. Lauren Coker October 27, 2014 Friendship in Monsters University University is a magic place. If most of the people around us in high school are similar, as for the university, you can meet with a wide variety of people with different characteristic. To get in the dream school, students have to go through the intense competition. So when first attend to the university, many students feels that they are the most unique one, but they will realize that there will always be someone beyond, such as really good at some subject, or just has distinguished background. In the movie Monsters University, James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski are two students with totally different background.
Her new high school, Avalon High, seems like a typical high school with the stereotypical students: Lance the jock, Jennifer the cheerleader, Marco, the bad boy, and Will, the senior class president, quarterback, and all around good guy. But not everyone at Avalon High is who they appear to be, not even Ellie herself. Eventually, it becomes apparent that Avalon High is a situation where the ancient Arthurian legend is repeating itself. Will, Jennifer, Lance, Marco, and Mr. Morton all correspond to King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Knight Lancelot, Mordred, and Merlin, respectively. As for Ellie, Mr. Morton and Marco misinterpret her as Elaine, the Lady of Shalott, who, in the legend, falls in love with Lancelot yet commits suicides due to her spurned love.
These values are easy to say but hard to live by and maintain. This essay will exemplify one of the seven values and how it has affected my life. When I was in my senior year of high school, I was given the responsibility to train, teach, and lead a renowned drill team. I had more people cheering for me to fail than to succeed, and I understood why because on the outside looking in, the only thing anyone could see was a quiet and meek baby faced female that could not be a day out of middle school. Despite the doubts I stood up and took my responsibilities, and was given a team of thirty two junior reserved officer training corps (JROTC) cadets ranging from 9th to 12th grade that were coming from all different walks of life.

Walden1 Alishia Walden Dr. Pat Arnn ENF 03 25 November 2013 Cause Essay WHY STUDENTS DROP OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL Entering high school is the beginning of a whole new learning experience. Transitioning from middle school, high school presents more classes, students, and a bigger campus. It brings new expectations and responsibilities to each of us. High school also offers fresh chances to make new friends, try new sports and activities, and really explore who we are as individuals. The goal is to maintain good grades, score high on the SAT test, and keep a positive attitude so colleges and universities will accept you.
Prof. Thomas English 125 2/20/13 I Just Wanna Be Average Looking back through all the things I’ve accomplished, I remember the time when I had to apply for high school. Getting into a good high school was like the most important thing because students were told that that’s what colleges looked at apart from our grades. Growing up I had decent grades. Fortunately, not only did I get accepted t into a high ranking school in my district, but I got into the program the school had, the law program. Not everyone got into the program, you had to have had an eighty-five average or over.
There is no right answer to this argument. In most cases, I believe that having a high standard of individuality would be the best option for all students to go on and achieve their life goals. As a junior in high school, I have been through the majority of the necessary 12 school years, and I have experienced similar procedures with regards to mandated courses vs. being able to make my own choices. I find myself asking whether or not mandatory classes are going to teach students to think for themselves on how to blend in with conformity and obey authority. In Source A, Gatto begins by asking his audience a profound question, “Do we really need school?” Of course, this may sound impractical; however, he does not mean that kids should not get an education.

People and things that help along your high school years are resources and allies. Resources and allies are found in organizations and extra-curricular activities in the form of friends, teachers and guidance counselors. Having good organization skills helps students keep track of their work and due dates. If the administration were to make more enthusiasm in the curriculum that would defeat most cases of students having trouble paying attention during class and falling behind on work. High school relationships can easily have a positive and negative effect on the success of students.
