Task C I would like you to create a reflective account of a time where you provided the children with snack or a meal. Within this explain the codes of conduct when the children are at the table (noise level, cleaning away, manors) including hygiene and why this is important. I would then like you to give a brief summary of the food policy within your setting. An example of a time when I have provided the children with a snack or meal would be providing lunch in the toddler room. Before the meal we had been outside, so when we returned to the room each child was asked to go to the toilet – or we checked their nappies – and to wash their hands even if they didn’t need the toilet.
Building trust with parents or carers will result in them knowing that the nursery is a very good place for their child as it offers a great amount of help and support, which is especially important for new parents or carers. Other professionals It is also important to partner with other professionals as they will offer the support and services, where needed, to improve the overall development of the child. For example, a speech and language therapist may assist a child with communication difficulties. Another example would be a play therapist to diagnose, prevent or resolve a child with psychosocial challenges. Multi-disciplinary teams It is very important that everyone in a multi disciplinary team work in partnership.

The collages will be collected upon the backpack return and displayed around the classroom once all the students have had their turn. Nutrition: This section we are asking you to play the grocery store challenge. How this is played is each family member is given five (5) minutes to run into the kitchen and come back with as many healthy and nutritious items they can find, the person with the most items wins. When students see others doing this it quickly reminds those who may have forgot that they too need to place their homework in the basket. Mr. Collet is then able to quickly see who has turned in homework and who has not. He also has provided the opportunity to each parent to purchase a daily planner; the planner allows the student to write down daily homework assignments for each class period and parents may follow up by looking at the planner nightly to ensure that the work is getting completed. Mr. Collet also allows for the students to participate in deciding what homework assignments are going to be assigned. Students get to give the opinion on what is best for them to learn from by helping Mr. Collet collectively agree upon what material they will have homework on.
They should try to help there kids reach there goals and make there future bright. Critical Thinking Questions 1. Being a good parent is just to be understanding in every situation that your child may or may not be getting into. They have to have the love and support for each child that they are raising. Just to always love the child to the fullest and make them feel like they are somebody in this world.
Practitioners need to praise children and encourage them to succeed in their learning and give them the support they need. Practitioners need to build positive relationship with not only their key children and other children in their setting but also with the children’s parents this gives them a better chance of giving children more support at home. See appendix 1. At the setting parents can get involved and this will benefit planning for the child as parents know their children better than anyone and they will know their likes and dislikes and will be able to help them with their development. Effective communication is also important so that information given is clear, concise, accurate, and informative. This decreases the possibility of errors being made. It is important to work as a team with other members of the setting, so that the child is getting the support the need and so that ever one is working to achieve the same results and goals. Within my own we use a range of methods to communicate with parents such as, monthly newsletters, class teachers hand-outs/diary informing parents what their child is doing each term, letters and posters. Having effective communication with the parents is important so that they know how their child is doing and what is happening at the nursery.

In every setting the must have a behaviour pocily as it is a legal requirement.This will tell what the staff will do if any situation occurs within the setting. However, we can aim to offer each unique child equality of opportunity suited to their individual needs and requirements. We as staff need to understand the needs and requirements of each individual child. For each child to have equal opportunities, settings they learn and play in must ensure that they and their families are fully included in the setting, taking into account the diversity of the children and families who come to the setting. Inclusion is the process of making this happens. Working towards inclusion involves striving to remove barriers to children and their families.
