Child Labor in China Introduction....... One of China's greatest issues is Child Labor. China's population is about 1.2 billion people. China makes up about twenty percent of Child Labor from 5 to 15 years of age. You may wonder where are these children's parents? Why are the parents not doing anything about kids working at a young age? Why doesn't the government do anything to protect the children? In order to understand why this children work, first we must "walk in their shoes." It's so easy to criticize that we don't stop and think. Why children work? 4.......Children work for many reason. Most of the society think that the children are force to work but it doesn't apply to all of the kids. In some cases is because their families are extremely poor and they need the money to survive. Of course you have some children that are physically forced to work. Other children do it because their parents die and are left to defend for themselves and they work for room and board. Some kids get adopted and force to work, or even sold to a manufacture. 5........Parent allow the children to work at such a young age because they don't believe that the education system trains them for a real job. Chinese people (mostly in the rural areas) feel that school does not provide skills and and immediate success to their lives. Also, many poor families cannot afford to send their children to school. Fees for school are a main problem to the poor families because is money they don't have and the children are left to support their families. Even though the money the children obtain is so meager, it helps to put food on the table. The parents of this children don't really realize the conditions that they put their children in. 1......Companies have pressure to produce cheap shit.....
