During my time in this class, so many things struck me hard. I am a self admitted naive person who was sheltered by my family for pretty much my entire life. Even as an adult, I have somewhat sheltered myself. I guess I never realized it until I decided to turn my life upside down, leave the “real world” and come back to school full time. I was a full time student back in 97-99 and it amazes me every day how things have changed.
|Educ G 203 | |Influential Teacher Paper | |[Michelle May | |17 September 2012] | | | The Teachers that have Impacted My Life As I have gone through the school system, I have met a few teachers who have made an impact on my life. Thanks to their dedication, I have now been inspired to further my education and become a teacher myself. I obviously grew up being in the classroom taught by teachers but since my mom is a speech language pathologist I have also seen school from the teacher’s perspective. For as long as I can remember, I have loved helping her in her classroom. From coloring to lesson plans, I enjoy it all.
I decided to try because of my parents, sports, and most importantly my future. I knew that I was capable because of my past. Kindergarten through 7th grade I received straight A’s and was on the honor roll each year. What pushed me the most was my parents. I wasn’t able to do a lot of things that I wanted to do because of my grades.
Sleep is just one of the many problems. Stress that is unnecessary is added. Families hate it as well because of the lack of time being enjoyed with their children. Homework is harmful to students because it adds unnecessary stress, makes students stay up late and takes away from family time. This is however normal for the average student in America.
Ismel Padron Julia and me The Cubans people always have had a strong influence by this country however they are enemies. Almost every person there dream to come here looking for freedom and a new start that’s why English has some roots in that island that one was colonized by England . For that reason many children and adults go to school to learn English when an opportunity to leave Cuba knocks their door. Unfortunately my parents knew that they would never see that dream come truth and as a result I never learned English like Julia did and I see now how many differences we have in the way we got it such as family support , school, and age. In my home in Cuba my family speaks
My family were religious and I got a bit of stick for this at school which I must admit didn't help but it wasn't the religions fault it was the cruel bigoted kids. But I decided at the age of 16 I wanted to venture into the world without religion and although it caused my family much heartache I left to do the things I wanted to. I want to make clear from the start that I wasn't trying to run away from anything or escape, I was just a teenager who thought he knew what was best. I was extremely fit as a young teenager and I was into weight training and bodybuilding and loved most sport. I managed to get a job straight out of
It should be coming in the mail soon and then I should be able to get some funds then. However because I have invested my time into school, also excited about school and received money from the military for my move, it has just hit me that I no longer have any money or low on funds. This problem is ill-defined because it is no so much that I have no money but really the problem is that I do not currently have a job. Because I have defined the problem wrong, all forms of solutions have been wrong. I have been thinking of it as me having no money.
The speech Mrs. Holler had given had placed a heavy weight on my shoulders, my schedule was already so difficult, and I didn’t think that I would be able to be successful with a class that required so much devotion. But then I made new friends, sitting with different grade levels, and I started to get more comfortable with the class. But then you switched it up once again. You gave us our group members; you put me in a group with complete strangers, Jacob Biber, Julie Klemz, Katelyn Meeter, Natalie Ambrose, and Kristen Saunders. Ohmigosh, I wanted to run out that door and never come back.
My parents do not speak English, so I am my own self advocate. I work incredibly hard on my school work. Also, I utilize all kinds of resources to master the language and become a highly successful student. I try to ask thoughtful questions whenever I'm in class and don't understand something. If I need help I must ask my teachers instead of my parents.
, maybe because the students prefer pay attention to other things less important than the class, that things could be some appliances like the cell phone, the mp3 player or simply they are talking to other mate in the classroom maybe about something that happened the day before or about a relationship between them, I mean they are a couple, that’s the most common in classes. Another reason is that they don’t go to bed on time. I think they like to watch T.V. until midnight or maybe they like to play videogames and students spend the whole night without caring about school next day. Anything else is that students go to bed too late, so they get up late at morning too; consequently they don’t have enough time to eat breakfast, what happens they go to school and in a while they are feeling tired and sleepy then, they don’t concentrate in school.
