College will help sharpen and build my current educational foundation. College will also provide me with a sense of personal achievement and greater self-esteem. This will allow me to integrate my personal and professional development, enabling me to become a better person and contribute to the good of society. The college experience is not merely gaining an education; is also the opportunity to meet people, discover cultures, gain experiences, and grow as a person. It is one of the first steps to becoming an independent adult.
We experience self-discovery, self-improvement and personal growth through higher education which will help us gain more confidence, higher social skills and greater civic awareness, all of which we need for our future careers and adult lives in general. According to Chris Blake (2001), “Generally, colleges provide access to topnotch professors and experts who are constantly teaching classes, giving lectures and offering help to students in their chosen field. This type of interaction extends well beyond classroom learning and gives you an opportunity that most high school grads don't have available.” These professors will be our role models, teaching us valuable skills and lessons so we can find and increase our potentials, to be able to grow and evolve as human beings for future generations. While I was doing a practicum in Hawaii for the Early Head Start preschool, I watched an interesting encounter between one of the children and a substitute, who did not have any children of her own, nor has she ever volunteered with children before as a teacher or tutor. I also think an excellent education is crucial because it will affect my family in one way or another. It will benefit the family I have now, and the family will have in the future. I hope to support my family financially, with the great job education will help me get, and by being a role model and educator to the children I will raise. I want to be able to answer questions my children will have, to give them knowledge and a decent education for their futures too. An education would also impact the family I have now because a nice education would give me a chance to go out into the world, get a good education somewhere to live.

A person will most likely be paid more just because he/she will have a larger wealth of knowledge in their head as well. Financial success and knowing a few things in life will make him/her happy, and will most likely live a much more comfortable life. People who obtain a college education will be much more likely to be financially secure, get jobs easier, gain more knowledge, and basically be happier in life.
