This exercise sets out everything I find important to myself and put a value upon it. This gives priority a new meaning because placing value on family and salary and certain things you want and need out of a job make a difference on what kind of job that maybe in mind. This creates an action plan in which requires a person to set limits to what needs to be given up for what job you want or want to work up too. Setting career priorities define my goals and help me look for a job because it makes me want to accomplish every goal I set for myself, so I can be happy and have everything I need to live and survive with. It is important when evaluating career variables because it helps me define my potential and where I want to spend my time working.
Question 5 – Customer Service Quality I feel that other measures would be to continue to train the employees on customer skills. Develop a program specifically for Tanglewood that would give the employees realistic scenarios they can do to improve their relationship skills with customer. You can also provide meeting where the manager and employees can discuss certain scenarios to better prepare new hires. I think focus groups will continue to help because they stay on top of problems and can keep you on your toes as the retail business changes. Question 6 – Realism in
Our company’s principles say that we will treat employees like family, so time has come to deliver on that promise. Donco hopes every employee takes advantage of the TAP to further his or her education. Attainment of higher education degrees will allow our workforce to steadily progress into management positions. A degree can open doors for individuals to achieve life-long dreams or aspirations. Donco has not lost an employee who chooses to chase a dream, quite the opposite; our company is better and stronger for caring.
I haven’t considered changing the system all together. I have played with ideas to tweak in and make it better. The pay system that we presently utilize helps to attract as well as retain highly qualified individuals on our staff. I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t look to improve on things already working. Do you offer any incentives to your employees?
When a company requires a person to fill a job they could have an open position for they will seek the best person for the job. If this entails a certain level of education or a certain skill the company will have to assign a higher rate of pay. A job that does not require a high level of education will allow for a lower rate of pay. Even though the internally consistent compensation system can be a wonderful thing to add into any company it can pose a big challenge to the companies competitiveness. This system that is founded on the job analysis has lead to a formal structure job descriptions which is how the pay scale the company uses is put in place.
Keep the whistle included but add a separate replacement Any solution that we choose should consider the highest customer satisfaction and thus provide our customers with the care, consideration, and ultimately value that they have come to rely on our company to provide. It should consider our business and shareholders and minimize the total cost to the company. I will talk about each option separately before my final recommendation. To remake the toy that has failed standards and repackage the whole collection, would provide our customer with what they ordered and keep intact the current relationship. On the down side, it is a significant enterprise and would cost a great amount of labor and time.
Acquire or Develop Talent Tanglewood should acquire talent, because it wants to keep performance and customer service at high levels. In addition, while old stores under Tanglewood have the same basic look, the management styles and human resource can use some improvements. Acquire talent is very helpful for new stores, because employees would “hit the ground running” and be at the peak performance the moment they arrive. Hire Yourself or Outsource Personally, I think Tanglewood should hire itself. Outsourcing is more practical for small and medium companies.
Short vs. long-term focus In the case of short or long term focus when it comes to employment, it is my opinion that it depends on what you are looking for. However, it is my opinion that for your particular company a long-term focus would be better of for you guys and will help you grow faster and have a solid and consistent mission throughout your regions. I believe that having a long-term focus and investing in developing your talent will result in having great managers that will pass on the culture of the company to their employees; in whichever store they happen to be placed. Since one of the concerns for both Emerson and Wood was the lost of the company core values as a result of expanding, I believe that having a long term approach to employment will assure that those who stay with the company pass on those values to the next generation of
This quality is admirable and this confidence is portrayed in one’s daily work ethics. Providing tuition reimbursement can ensure this quality is fine tuned and the company will reap the benefits. Self-esteem is a driving force for associates that understand their work can be a reflection of the person behind the work. The associate that has a second chance to enroll in college courses will receive that needed boost to rebuild the lost self-esteem. To offer the chance to not only enroll but to receive reimbursement and a flexible schedule will remove any doubts of any associate that is unsure of their capability and support of pursuing the dream of higher education.
When starting a new job, a new employee will learn of all the non-monetary benefits that the company has to offer. These benefits help an individual decide if they want to work for the corporation long term. Once employed for a period, an employee will weigh out the pay and benefits’, deciding if relocating to another company has better plans. A corporation must have the best “perks” if retainment of good employees is beneficial to the company otherwise, employees may seek employment elsewhere (Reeve, 2009).
