Hiring within the company makes a positive statement. Offering tuition reimbursement is also a making statement “the company cares for its employees”. The opportunity to attend a high education can improve ones quality of life. The education will build confidence, employees will have the feeling of being need and willing to take the responsibility of doing what it that to get the job done, which can increase overall productivity. Employees who attend the program can introduce new idea and encourage other employees.
This quality is admirable and this confidence is portrayed in one’s daily work ethics. Providing tuition reimbursement can ensure this quality is fine tuned and the company will reap the benefits. Self-esteem is a driving force for associates that understand their work can be a reflection of the person behind the work. The associate that has a second chance to enroll in college courses will receive that needed boost to rebuild the lost self-esteem. Short vs. long-term focus In the case of short or long term focus when it comes to employment, it is my opinion that it depends on what you are looking for. However, it is my opinion that for your particular company a long-term focus would be better of for you guys and will help you grow faster and have a solid and consistent mission throughout your regions. From parents' perspective, this dream means their children will achieve greater things and will live a better life than them. Let the Legacy Live In the USA Today editorial “Preserve Universities’ Right to Shape Student Community,” the editor discusses how universities heighten the rate of acceptance if one were to have family that was alumni. Known as legacy admissions, this requires certain criterion that is not based on academic achievement. According to the article, 12% of Dickinson College’s incoming freshmen have family connections giving them a boost over other applying students regardless of the GPA and standardized test scores. Legacy admissions are beneficial for a university and their tradition. Not only would it boost support from alumni, but also allow maintaining low tuition costs.
For the first time teachers are going to be getting paid more, they will finally get a salary in which their line of work calls for. A teacher’s job will no longer be a small town last resort but instead it will be a profession; with that calls for a level of responsibility in the teachers who don’t perform to standard because they have a guaranteed position. They need to ensure employee wages, and hours are comparable, and are able to provide for their families based on the state of the economy, because a happy employee is a productive employee.
