Personalized Nutrition and Exercise Plan Mary J House University of Phoenix Sci 241 September 5, 2012 Eating right and getting the proper amount of physical activity each day can be a lot harder to do than it seems. It is though entirely possible to eat right and have a good exercise regimen. It just takes having the tools and the willpower to put it into action and stick to it. I know that to be healthy I need to change the way I eat and get more exercise, and I now have the knowledge to do so. I now just need to muster up the courage and willpower to make some healthy changes to my diet and exercise routines.
The foods I replaced were cheese, eggs and potatoes. I replaced theses food items because they are where most of my fat intake came from. I wanted to lower my bad fat intake and up my healthy fat intake. It is important to stay within the guidelines for fat intake because if you don’t it can lead to some serious health problems. It can lead to cardiovascular disease, obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure.

First Marlay describes different foods that are great stress minimizers. Most of the foods listed are the healthy aliments that are found on the food plate.

If you have high cholesterol it could put you at risk for many health concerns such as heart attack and stroke. High cholesterol allows fatty deposits to develop in your blood vessels which slow the flow of blood in your arteries ("High cholesterol Definition - Diseases and Conditions - Mayo Clinic," 2014). Although high cholesterol can be genetic, most of the time it is a result of the way you live and things you eat. Eating healthy and getting regular exercise can go a long way to staying healthy and sometimes medication can help reduce cholesterol.
Any nutritious substance that is consumed or absorbed in order to maintain life and growth is considered food. From an early age, we try eating all sorts of edible substances and seem to only like the ones that are not as healthy for us. The more unhealthy it is, the more humans seem to like it. The more we eat these addictive foods, the more we search for remedies to lose the physical damage it carries on our bodies. Can these delicious canned soups or conveniently packaged frozen meals or sugary boxed cereals truly help us grow in the best of ways?
Consuming the proper amount of macronutrients in your diet is essential for proper health and growth of your body. Proteins are needed to keep the body growing properly and cell growth. Eating too little will cause slow development and eating too many, the body will store the protein as fat. Carbohydrates give the body energy, like eating a snickers bar full of nuts will give the body a boost of energy. Eating the proper amount of carbohydrates will help the body to not store an excess amount of fat.
I am sure that vegetables and fruits will be foods that I must increase intake. Reading magazines and books on nutrition will also assist me in making the right food choices. I have read that increasing proteins will help keep you full longer, so this will help me. Breads and other carbohydrates are items that I will need to limit eating. The food diary will also assist me with seeing the improvements that I have made from week to week and day to day.
Joining a fitness club can also help stay in a healthy lifestyle. Mr. Brown: How would you alleviate my fears regarding my high cholesterol? What recommendations and approaches would you give me to make any necessary lifestyle changes? Protein is needed in the diet for growth and repair of the body. Protein protects the body form infections and disease. Protein is also a good source of some vitamins and minerals. The best foods to be included in the diet to get protein into your body would be dairy products, meat, fish and eggs. Carbohydrates is needed in the diet for energy and warmth, once there is carbohydrates in the body it keep us going throughout the day.
Thesis Statement and Annotated Bibliography Thesis statement: The current USDA recommendations regarding the consumption of unlimited amounts of unrefined carbohydrates are flawed. Current research shows that all carbohydrates, both simple and complex, lead to an increase in weight, diabetes, and heart disease. In order to combat the obesity epidemic, people must return to the foods our ancestor ate during the last hundred-thousand years of evolution.
