Communication Theory Barbara J. Walker HCS/320 7/18/2011 Kristin Thrun INTRODUCTION When working in teams sometimes it can be hard especially when you have one person that doesn’t want to cooperate. It also can be a lot of fun when you get the right kind of people. You may find some people that want to take charge and do all the work instead of working with a team. Then you have the ones that are laid back and don’t care as long as they are working. I enjoy working with a team because you get to meet new people while you are working and it makes the time go by fast.
Taking into account the opinions of others and listeneing properly to their input will encourage a healthy team and also give the person involved control of whos and what input they would like in their support. Features of effective team performance, are having the team interacting and empowering each other through discussion and suggestion, this enables the team through meetings and every day events to put ideas forward and develop them to see what works and what does not, as some people believe that they way they do things is the only way which is not the case. There are several challenges’ that can form between developing and established teams, as everyone has their strengths but with that comes some allowable weakness. When these are identified it is my job to nurture strengths and set goals to overcome any weaknesses I do this through observation, meetings, supervision and appraisals. Also through ongoing course work to keep up to date with legislation and any changes to legislation to comply with CQC 3.
This allows them to work alongside their colleagues and lets them build good relationships with the service users even if they are from different backgrounds. People who have disabilities can have problems with communicating effectively with their careers and this could cause problems for them and their health. Verbal communication is a spoken language used by people to communicate out loud. To be a good communicator you can use verbal and non-verbal ways of communicating. A good verbal communicator is someone who listens well and can think and express ideas clearly.
Ultimately the general manager wants to have a great team. Therefore, often times they are forced to deal with employees who perform less. There are often reasons why

With effective communication service users and family will enjoy the services provided. 1.3 Explain why it is important to observe an individual reactions when communicating with them All communication has an effect on the person that you are communicating with. Interactions a two way process, it is important to watch the effects so that any problems can be identified and dealt with. In order to be effective in care and supporting service users you have to be a good communicator whether this is through speaking, body language, facial expressions or gestures.

Outcome 1 Understanding why communication is important in the work setting. 1.1 Identify different reasons why people communicate. Most people communicate consistently in everyday life, we are very sociable people and most of us have some sort of interaction with others on a daily basis. We communicate in all kinds of different ways and communicate differently with different kinds of people in different settings and environments.
This environment could be achieved when being in a relationship with a person who was very understanding, accepting and genuine. Risk taking can be part of a person centred approach as we would choose to use positive and informed risk taking which would involve building a positive view of the individual, and seeking to learn what a persons skills are and what people like about them. In person centred thinking we also explore the consequences of not taking the risk so that these may be balanced against the consequences of taking the risk. Using an individuals care plan contributes to working in a person centred way as this would be constructed by the client with the support of the care worker so that the client has full control, instead of the support plan being made by the care worker so the client feels as if they have no control of their recovery. Work in a person centred way In order to find out the history, preferences, wishes and needs of an individual I would refer to any previous files held with regards to that person, as well as discussing directly with the client what the preferenes etc.
TRU is handled in a very different way than other companies making this company very easy to adapt to changes. Today’s market is constantly changing making it difficult for many companies to adapt properly to change. Firstly, the company has pursued a push system that allows store managers to adapt very well in customer relations and also monitor positive and negative feedback. This leads to a system that quickly response to any negative feedback. In my opinion by doing this TRU adapts very well to changes within their own system.
To collaborate means individuals respect the viewpoint of others and allow the team to learn and grow. I believe teams that understand the benefits of collaboration are more stable and effective. The disadvantage of collaboration is the energy, time, and the skill that goes into collaborating. My second choice would be accommodation. In the beginning stages of forming a team, individuals who come together usually begin feeling each other out.
Listening is a vital part of communicating and is often overlooked by most people. It is an exchange of ideas and should always be two ways. In the future, in an effort to have effective communication, the receiver should have an equivalent say in the conversation. Individuals should be open to the other person’s thoughts/ideas/suggestions to form an integral part of workplace
