Teen Responsibility EssayRough Draft In todays society many teenagers have forgotten, or just stopped caring, about responsibility. It is the age of Samsung and Apple, of PS4 and Xbox one. But you will hear nothing of keeping their rooms tidy, of studying for tests, of preparing to get into a good collage. But there is something worse. Yes, I said worse. Worse then unkempt rooms, failing grades, and lack of collage application worthy deeds. Teens have forgotten their responsibilities to themselves. Teenagers have forgotten responsibilities to mental, and physical heath, and teens should learn the importance of taking responsibilities seriously. Teens today are so caught up on trends and fashion and the newest technology that they stop caring about what really matters, themselves. The average teenager spends seven hours or more a day on their phone. That is over twenty-nine percent of their day. In that time they could study for a test, clean their room, do their homework, and do extra chores around the house. Or they could spend it walking, be social, talking to old friends, being a human, not a machine. Instead of focusing on their status or school work, they could focus on melting away their stress, letting it all out. The more technology-dependent you are, the higher stress levels you have. Also, the more you focus on schoolwork, chores, and tidy rooms, the more it becomes that, a chore. Spending sometime on your schoolwork, chores, social life, and technology is important. But it is more important to keep yourself from falling into the hole so many people call “teen depression.” I believe a happy, slightly dirty, average student or child is better then one also stressing about everything, don't you?
