A dynamic afternoon everyone! We are gathered here to put ACMCL H.S. Department on the map as a thriving sports ward. And it is my pleasure to welcome you with the prospect of a dose of fun and recreation as we hold our Sports Festival 2015-2016 with the theme: “Play to Strengthen Friendship and Sportsmanship”. But before I head on with my speech, I would like to take this opportunity to thank those people behind this event, my co-SSG Officers, Tchr. Albert Goco, SSG Adviser, Tchr. Rhon Umali, Sports Coordinator, Tchr. Jorelyn Gempes, Head of Students Affair and Tchr. Virgie Maur, our School Principal and Engr. Humphrey Dolor, our school director. We all know that a school is a place where students are cherished to become an accountable and valuable member of the society. It is a center of complete measures of molding students to become someone to the chosen field of endeavor they wish to engage in. But have you ever thought of why does a school held a sports festival? Is it only a front of the sports committee just to say they did their part? Or is it only a pastime just to get rid of the academic subjects? Most of us view sports as a simple game. But only few knew that it is much more than that, only few understood that having this fair is one of the momentous deals on schools. Discipline, Teamwork, Respect, Sportsmanship, Preparation, Determination, Competitiveness and Improvement are the essential objectives of this kind of competition. But we only focused on the major points of those goals which are emphasized on our theme. “Play to Strengthen Friendship and Sportsmanship”. It is simple, isn’t it? But behind this plainness is its striking meaning. First, play to strengthen friendship.
