Describe own role and responsibilities and those of others in the team My role of a Teaching Assistant is extremely important in the class room. I am there to support the pupils and the teacher in charge as well as other staff working in the school. A teaching assistant is responsible for preparing the class room ready for the day ahead as well as clearing the classroom after the school day. The Teaching assistant is required to float between pupils helping them to confidently complete their work and tasks set. We are also required to sometimes work with individual groups of pupils on set tasks or individually with pupils who need one to one support.
This helps the children to enjoy their learning a little more. It is also a teacher’s responsibility to build up a communicative relationship with parents as this helps whilst guiding the children in the classroom and a t home. My role Teaching assistant: the teaching assistant has the responsibility of aiding the teacher where necessary during lessons, trips and other school activities. They also may have the duty of assisting small groups of children in lessons on their own and helping with interventions in topics such as numeracy and literacy. The teaching assistant is also the post of call for parents if the teacher requires it.
How can parents reclaim their position as part of the school community? Group 2: Lack of competence on the part of a teacher has a negative impact on the way learners view their teacher and also often results in discipline problems among learners. Suggest ways in which a teacher can be regarded as a quality and effective teacher providing examples in your argument. Group 3: Teaching also goes hand-in- hand with the manner in which you conduct yourself as a teacher because you have to develop a certain atmosphere and quality when standing in front of your learners in a classroom. Discuss a situation/s in which you experienced your own school teacher displaying qualities of an effective teacher.
Students need structure. Structure in the classroom will cause self motivation in students. Also, students don't like being held accountable for their actions. Having to talk to students about why they didn't finish their assignments will motivate them to do their work. Most students try to avoid being lectured or get in trouble for something they can avoid.
What does the statement, “Students not only care what you know, but want to know you care” mean to you? This statement to me means, that there are students who not only seek for a teacher with knowledge, but a teacher who will appreciate them as a student, and encourage them to succeed. This is because many students are discouraged by those teachers who are in a classroom because it is their job rather than their passion. Everyday I encounter different students with different personalities, but through my experience with children, I have learned that, the most common students are those who are in need of a caring hand and support. For example, I once worked with a group of fifth graders who were all very well behaved, but there was one boy
2). Instead of searching for a better educational environment, students look for better tests numbers. Lang Wood goes on by stating “Students can easily become discouraged and negative about education in general, which affects their learning ability” (par. 2). In addition to what Lang Wood believes, Stephens claims, students who are taking the test suffer from stress in result of worrying about passing it.
However, snitching is just a part of everyday school life. You will always have those students that will be more worried about others than themselves. When a student becomes more focused on getting others in trouble, there usually is an underlying issue. Therefore, the way to approach this form of misbehavior is to pull the student aside and talk to them. Remind them of the rules, and how to worry about themselves.
