ADHD is not a learning disorder; however it can cause children to have problems with learning. Furthermore, children with ADHD have an excessive rate of learning disorders and will have problems with other school-work like calculation and following a long with his/her teacher during direct instructional time. But with enduring and an efficient plan, the child will be capable of succeeding in the classroom. ADHD negatively can affect a child’s social and emotional behavior and the ability to control them in a positive manner in a school environment.
Some schools, like the grammar schools, require a good result on the 11+. This leads to cream skimming, but also off-loading of ‘bad’ students, that for example will refuse children with learning difficulties good education, because they are “those students who won’t do well anyways”. The top students often seem to be from the middle class. They don’t suffer from material or cultural deprivation and often use the elaborated code, which makes education easier for them. This makes the schools trying to appeal to the middle class parents, to make the middle class parents choose their school and help them get their own results better.

Having a go to person in school is a good alternative as a resource that can be available at school but most suicides are done at home or away from school. In these seminars the parents will learn the red flags to pick up on such as a sudden loss of interest in things they used to enjoy, a change in sleep patterns and how they are doing in school. All these are good indicators to how a child may be battling the struggles of depression and the consideration of suicide begins to hinder. Parents will also be aware of how to keep the home area safe from any easy access to things such as guns as states before.
Yell explains the current laws and regulations on disciplining students in special education. Throughout the chapter Yell breaks down the different aspects of discipline in schools in regards to special education. Yell starts out explaining the procedural due process used to create fair polices. Yell also talks about how schools are given the power to act as parent for the child while they are at school. This does not mean that parents have no rights to what happens to their child while they are at school but this allows school to guide student behaviors though discipline.
She avidly believes that the pressures at home from parents on their children to do outstanding in school is linked to the reasons kids turn to drugs to make them focus harder and longer. One of the author’s main claims is that students believe that the drugs help them in school when in truth Warner’s research shows a negative link between academic progress and the use of these stimulants. She uses research and statistics to prove her claim of how students falsely believe the drugs progress their advancement in school. However, her other main claim on how the parents are responsible for their children abusing the drugs lacks hard evidence or proof of that being the main reason for students to lead to the drug misuse. Safegurading the welfare of children and young people 1.2 The different agencies involved in safeguarding in schools are, social services, police, NHS, Brekfast clubs. There intentions are the same but there roles are completely different. Social services role is to make sure that all children are in a happy family enviroment also making sure that they are healthy and that there parents can cope with the childs development stages. Also if a child is off school for a long time or if they keep arriving late to school a teacher will report it to them so they can make a check. The police also make checks on parents/children if they have recived a complaint.
There are 5 different parts to a bullying incident starting with the bullies themselves, which are those students who instigate the bullying behavior and benefit from it in some way. Second is the supporter who are those students that don’t instigate but they do show support to the bully. Third are the bystanders who are those students that view the bullying as a spectator sport. Fourth is the upstander who are students who provide some sort of support to the target of bullying. Lastly is the target themselves who are those students that are targeted for bullying by repeated acts of violence.
However, if students have the right reason to drop out of school due to their personality and personal interest, family issues, or they have own business, they should be able to decide their future since talent is not based solely on academics. Personality and personal interest are a crucial factor for student to drop out. Because of the family environment or personal disability, a student may not understand the way the teacher teaches. The student may grow with negative attitude to teacher and course, which prevents the student to absorb knowledge. Students prefer to learn by themselves.
Bullying is a plague that creeps up on schools and spreads through rumors, causing innocent students to suffer. This is serious because, bullying is harmful towards anyone, especially to those in school. It could distract students from their studies and create a low self-esteem that can ruin future careers. Now there are already laws towards bullying such as discrimination, assault, and harassment, but those laws need to be enforced. However they are not, because in most cases of bullying it is usually one person’s word against the others.
