Biggie feud which I briefly spoke of earlier. Though there really was a problem between the two rappers, it was blown way out of proportion by producer Suge Knight who also had a feud but with Biggie's producer Puff Daddy. He encouraged 2pac to continuely attack Biggie in his songs. 2pac seemed to be unaware of the fact that he was actually being used by Suge to promote something even better, a westcoast vs. eastcoast war. This led to millions of albums beings sold because people began to feed into the hype and joined in on the war.

Run DMC then started to experiment mixing their sound with samples of heavy metal guitars, basically combining the sound of each genre to create a gritty, street savvy sound. Run DMC's success showed the rest of the hip hop world that success could be achieved by delivering constant new material that challenged the status-quo with unique sounds and challenging lyrics. Their 1986 album Raising Hell was preceded by the top ten hit “My Adidas”, and then the release of a cover of Aerosmith's “Walk This Way”, off the same album, became the groups biggest commercial hit.
The other factor that takes away from this album is the two rock-rap songs, (She Watch Channel Zero!? & Party For Your Right to Fight). Maybe it’s a personal bias, because I never really like when rap and rock fuse, but I totally think they are in much better form when rapping over James Brown samples. Otherwise I can’t see any other flaws with this album. Chuck D performs like no other, and the Flavor Flav element is unique and essential to this album’s

It is not to say that I did not like some of the artist like Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Dr Dre, Snoop Dog, Ice Tea, and Ice Cube just to name a few of the artist that’s music did not bother me the most even though sometimes that could be course with their words. Kendrick Lamar Rap, Hip-hop, all portrayed as the same. The race to the top is the battle of egos as rappers try to outdo each other by proving who is the most “ gangster” . Anyone who was positive in the movie they tried to hurt or they killed them off. Young minorities are faced with theses images everyday from music videos on down to television shows and I feel that it was an awful depiction of black culture. I do feel that the movie is detrimental and can taint a young urban minorities mind; it could lead young men and women to idolize criminal lifestyle. When Goldie refers to himself as a “hero” I could almost imagine what is going on in a young teenager’s mind. Their probably thinking the movie was great or they want to sell drugs, be a player or pimp just like him without seeing the truth.
He got two turntables and created “the break”, which was the instrumental part of the song and that’s what people like. Afrika Bambaataa started to do the same and hip-hop started getting a lot of success. It’s an incredible difference of hip-hop from the 70’s to hip-hop now.
