Police Influence on Society Police Influence on Society Cindy Cubbison CJA/344 February 5, 2013 Anthony Williams University of Phoenix Police Influence on Society That describes how the historical development of policing in the United States relates to the current relationship between police and different ethnic groups and social classes. There are many different types of groups, race. There are racial groups, ethnic groups, religious groups, and gender groups. Those have never change and I don’t think they ever will. There is also prejudice and discrimination these to I do believe they speak for their selves. Racism is the most common term used it has always been that way. There are so many different groups that no one can really keep up with all of them. The characteristics groups are group size, interdepends group, group identity, group goal, and group structure. A lot of police officer in the racial profiling like the KKK was going on in the past as is with the present time. Being a police officer doesn’t sound very easy to be they accused of too much like beating the opposite race or sex. Like the beating of Rodney King in L.A. that happen on March 3, 1991 there were 17 officers standing by watching the beating without helping Rodney King at all.
