Susan B. Anthony also opposed abortion, which she saw as another instance of a "double standard" imposed upon women. In the nineteenth century, the decision to undergo an abortion was very often decided by men. There were none of the standard contraceptive options available to women today. Antibiotics had yet to be invented, and abortion was a life threatening and unsanitary procedure for the woman. Anthony wrote that "when a woman destroys the life of her unborn child, it is a sign that, by education or circumstances, she has been greatly wronged,” Susan B. Anthony encouraged women to register to vote and then vote, using the Fourteenth Amendment as justification.
Agrippina the Younger was the third wife of Claudius and the mother of Nero. Ancient writers have perceived her as a manipulative woman, controlling her husband and doing anything to place her son Nero upon the Imperial throne. Agrippina has gone down as one of the most powerful and most ruthless women in history. However modern historians have reviewed the images of Agrippina, free from the sexual bias of the Ancient writers. The histrorian James Romm portrayed Agrippina as a woman who was simply trying to escape the restrictions imposed on her by society.

Supported by many historians and sources found, the Persian empire during the reign of Darius and Xerxes was strongly patriarchal. This is evident through the lack of sources of women during that time as the images that exist are mostly of men. Many Greek writers such as Herodotus did mention and name some Persian women of the court but these accounts are coloured by Greek prejudices of the authors so can’t always be reliable source of evidence. Thus, understanding of women in Persia during the reign of Darius and Xerxes is limited as sources found only briefly add to our understanding of the economic and social roles of non-royal and royal women throughout the empire.

Anthony helped establish the American Equal Rights Association in 1866 with Elizabeth Cady Stanton, calling for the same rights to be granted to all regardless of race or sex. In 1872 Susan voted illegally and was put on trial. She could not even speak at her own trial because she was a woman. She was fined $100 which she never paid. Susan never gave up fighting for women’s suffrage.
Two other females that had nicknames are known as a sexual need in the film because McMurphy invited them over to seduce the guard and Billy. During the 1960s, woman did not have any experience with power because they still lived in a society where men are taking control. Women were not allowed to be senators, judges, or governors yet alone hold a position involving running the Roman Empire. Romans often feared powerful women for example Cleopatra, fearing that their king Julius Caesar was under the spell of the foreign queen. Roman women weren’t allowed to transact any business of importance without the agreement of her father, husband, or guardian (guardian is usually a male).
