I made sure that I would have help around the house while I am going to school, then my oldest daughter told me that she would be so proud to see me succeed my goal. So I checked around for some colleges and I found Ashford University. Even though I will be doing my courses online I will still be a full-time student. I will be going to Ashford University for my Bachelors in Health Care
The University of La Verne’s core values have been present in my life throughout the years. Even though my mother wanted to attend college as I did, she didn’t have the option to so and that’s why she encourages me to try my hardest in school. When my mother was young, she dreamed of attending college in the United States and getting a job so she could support her family, whereas when I was small, I didn’t think school was important. Although my mother only attended elementary school, school was one of her top priorities because she felt like it was an honor to go to school, and if you went to school, you were considered to be lucky. My mother was an over-achiever and saw education as a way of showing that she was better than most.
Being the first person in my family to get a college degree makes me feel so good. Setting example for children and letting them see that mommy can do it is priceless. The things that we do in life as far as school wise are thing we can take us to the next level is just a lot of us lose hope we are not sure where to go. I though getting a high school diploma was fine for me. I felt school was not for me because I have dyslexic and, I feel people just don’t want to help me.
When I was a kid I used to live with my mother and my grandparents, I grew up without knowing my father, but I was happy because my grandparents always bought me everything I wanted, at that time I was the only child at home. Later my Mom got married, and I had two brothers. I learned how to share my toys with them, and I got a stepfather who taught me many good things because he is a good and hard working man. My Mom is lucky. Before I finished the high school, I started to work for a big tools company as a salesman helper (where I learned many new things).
I had to make something of my life for not just myself, but for my family as well. There are many reasons why I decided to return to school, but the main reason was because I alwayspush her to do well in school and get good grades so that she could go to college. So I neededto lead by example. This is just one of the many reasons why I decided to return to school. Another was to better myself and be a constant provider for my family.

1) I am at Chadron State College to get a degree in Exercise Science. Growing up I made multiple visits to Chadron and have always thought CSC would be the perfect place to further my education. When time to choose a college actually came it turned out to be a tough decision, but since Chadron is so close to home and very affordable I decided that it would be the best fit. I also liked how most CSC graduates had lots of job opportunities right after graduation and am hoping for the same when it is my turn to graduate. 2) According to my time log my top three priorities are school, my family/friends and my health.
When I graduated and received my degree in Business Administration major in Accounting in 1982, I thought of pursuing graduate studies but that plan was put at the back burner when I took the board examination for Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines. I passed the examination and was offered a job. Since then I enjoyed working and building up my career both in the private and public sector. Two years ago, I quit my federal job to join my family in Page, AZ. I have not gone back to work since then, but found an opportunity to go back to school and pursue what I had been wanting years ago, to go to a graduate school.
And the number one answer I could think of right off the back was to make that money. Nowadays, student around my age only think about going to college in order to be successful finically, not just for an education. Although some choose to learn far beyond the classroom, many students fail to take the time to go into deeper thinking to figure things out for themselves. I believe education is a tool that a person obtains through many years of development and learning, and will be continuously employed throughout the duration of their lives. Growing up, my mom pretty much told me that if I was not joining the military then I was for sure going to college.
Education is very important to everyone, young and old. Most everyone needs a good education to reach their career goals. For me, after graduating from university I would like to continue on and get a higher education. I am determined to pursue my education and reach my goals. Nowadays, I’m study first year at the Economic and Finance Institute.
