Jenny Graves: I love being able to help the younger generations learn and to guide them to be the very best they can be in life. After all they are our future and without us to guide them then the future does not look too promising. Cynthia Moore: What made you choose a career in early childhood education? Jenny Graves: The lack of dedication among the teacher’s I had growing up. To them it was just another job and I wanted more for those learning.
Stability is one of the reasons why I chose to return to school because I would someday be able to help my father the way he helped me and my family for myself as well. When I first started Ashford University online degree program, I thought that it would be difficult and kind of strange that I waited so many years to decide to go back to school. However, then I realized there really was no reasons to feel
In this essay I am going to explain key influences on the learning process of individuals. I am doing a BTEC extended diploma in health and social care right now at college and I am enjoying it so far. I did As levels last year in applied science, media studies and communication and culture and did like the subjects which made me go off track I didn’t attend lessons and my attendance dropped poorly. However when I came to pick up my results and I didn’t get the grades that I needed I realized that I need to put my head down because I don’t want to end up doing a boring/retail job all my life. My career goal is to become a radiographer which my dad first introduced to me and I found rather interesting, but my plan B is social work.
After I graduated, I did not know where I wanted my life to head so I did not go to school and just worked and had fun. Then my son came, and all my priorities changed. I started wanting better things for him. So I went back to school and found that I really want to be a teacher because of how fast they learn and are influenced. I want to be able to influence children to make the right decisions in life.
When I was first asked this question, it intrigued me. I have always loved learning about everything and reading, so seeing people who have taken years off from school fathoms me. Because I love learning, I have always wanted to obtain my degree for personal development as well as having a higher education underneath my belt. I come from a low-income family, so they could not afford to send me to college when I graduated from high school. Besides my father, who passed away when I was young, if I complete my degree I would be the only one in my family to have a college degree.
Earning my degree online would be great for me so I can still stay home with my children until they are school age. I learn and focus better at my
However for the few Caucasian students, my friends say that they were always pushed to succeed, not out of the doors. One of my friends, Brittney, would say how simply because her parents were on welfare that she felt as if she would just amount to that in her future if she did not have any support. That story stood out to me when you stated “a supportive and trusting environment provides ‘identity security’ to students, who are then emotionally more ready to challenge the stereotypical myths” (196). The previous quote really hit home for me. All it really takes is for one teacher, just one, to give you the extra push that you need to succeed academically.
I would like the writer to discuss more ways to get high school students to focus in school and how teachers or parents can help them achieve their goals. The comparison of this essay to my expectations are not very different at all, I agree with everything the writer has to say because education has only been getting worse throughout the years and the way that high school diplomas are just being handed out to seniors is not how it used to be which defeats the whole purpose of even learning. Sherry’s essay helps the readers clearly understand how education for high school students has become insignificant. Overall, Mary Sherry did really well writing this essay by using her thoughts and experiences to help the readers to be more informed on the
I love helping my kids with their homework. While helping them with their homework there is a lot of things that I learn that I never knew. Even when I become a teacher there will be some things that I be learning as I teach my students. There are a lot of obstacles that I have to encounter on a day to day basis. As I am doing my schooling online there are times that I just want to quit but I know to myself that I have come this far and I refuse to turn around.
The importance about having a higher education is very important to me especially when I see all that my parents have gone through since neither of them got the chance to go to college. Therefore I see myself working really hard to try to achieve that goal in getting accepted to this college and strive to get a major in psychology, criminal justice or nursing. My future plans other than having my own family is to graduate college and have a stable job that’ll help me financially to be stable and not be in debt. Hopefully after you reading this, I hope to have captured your attention and help me achieve my goal in getting in this college because I am a honorable, responsible, trustworthy, respectful young lady that’s going to strive to become somebody and I know you won’t regret your choice in accepting
