I worked for a fast food industry full time. At first I love it because I was getting money for myself. After a year I started realizing that this job was not going to get me anywhere. Unfortunately, before doing anything to change my life I got pregnant. I was sixteen when I got pregnant.
After few weeks of school one of my friends helped me to get part time job. So I started getting money. Because of lack of transportation I was walking every day to work and walking back at late night. That time was my struggling time. After fourth month my parents and me rented apartment.
This is a story about my grandfather Eugene "Gene" Mitchell, known to me as papaw Gene. Papaw Gene was Mom"s Dad. Papaw was born on February 7, 1938 in Yukon, West Virginia. Yukon is in the Appalachian Mountians and back in papaw's youth the major industry was coal mining. Papaw didn't want to be a coal miner so he dropped out of hihgh school and joined the army for two years.
His experience was horrible, “One day as he begged to see his year old son, guards beat him and told him to run” (Holley). He was there for 7 weeks until he was ordered to march to Gorlitz, on the way many of the other Jewish prisoners died from starvation. Russian soldiers liberated the camp on May 15, 1945, nearing starvation he was giving a potato. After that he moved to the U.S. in 1950, along the way he acquired tuberculosis from being in the camp. In 1970 they decided to travel to Israel a life long dream.
It took me twice the time to read an assignment or to do homework than my classmates took. Everything was a new start to me. Thanks to my diverse background, I received the honor of the diversity scholarship. My parents cried on the day that I was awarded the scholarship because I was the first child go to college. It was a really big surprise for me and my family.

Key issue essay In 1968 on the 9th of March US soldiers from ‘c’ company entered hamlets in Quang Ngai on a search and destroy mission. The hamlets and My Lai were known as the Vietcong territory(Vietnamese army). US soldiers lost all control and killed 300-400 civilians including; men, women and children. 70 of these civilians were mown down with automatic fire once herded into a ditch. Over a year the US army covered up their massacre and 13 soldiers were charged with war crimes against humanity.

Then, in the first day of the chemistry laboratory, we need to choose the group to do all the experiment together for the whole semester. Most of the students have their own group with their friends, but I did not any friends because I am a college freshman. So, I formed a group with him and another college freshman. We really have not talked for a few weeks, even we try to discuss about the experiment because he is too shy around other students and also we cannot communicate orally.
