Divorce is a huge topic a lot of parents think about when they feel that there spouse is no longer compatible with them and also the fact that it’s not working out for reason only they will know. It may just be the fact that two people that were deeply in love just feel out of it because of no connection anymore. In the article “Just Whom Is This Divorce” Good” For? Written by Elizabeth Marquart talks about how divorce can cause children even from a good divorce go through it there selves when they get older, children also feel that they are to blame for their parents getting divorced and they lose all interest for other things, there is also a lot of controversy about which parent gets which day can just lead up to a huge custody battle for most.
3.3 TRANSITIONS Transitions may affect children and young people’s behaviour and development in different ways. They may become quiet and withdrawn, feel anxious, demonstrate uncharacteristic behaviour and or become attention seeking. Short and long term affects of a break up on children: Most commonly, children of separated couples will experience greater poverty. Their social and emotional development is very likely to be affected, as well as a child’s psychological and physical health. Children of separated couples may also perform worse at school and have poorer future employment prospects.
And some young people and children may be abused or exploited so, they need to look after away from their families. The reasons are as follows: 1) Bereavement: most look after children will have experienced so many disruptions in their lives. This may include painful experiences such as family bereavement. As a result the children’s education may become affected and they may be below their expected class average. This will have caused from poor concentration, the child may also need specific help in their work and class before any sort of progress can be made.
In the chapter the author discusses how divorce is related to emotional feelings and that its even worse than death because you lose someone you know is alive which is worse from my point of view. Mentioned in the chapter is how the divorce reflects negatively of course on the children and the parents as well. For the parents it’s going through the process of losing their partnership as a husband or a wife and for the kids or children it’s the loss of the intimate relationship of the day to day with their non-residential parent. Which of course resembles for both, the parents and the children, home feeling of belonging. Other than that of course there are different stages of mixed up feelings either anger, conflicts adapting to the new life, sadness and grief.
Some personal problems that can cause drop outs are pregnancies, marriage, and ect. Becoming a mother or a father at a young age is a big responsibility. When teens have kids, some tend to quit school without thinking about their child's future. Also, marriage can be a very stressful factor to any student. Stressing leads
Children are affected by the divorce more if the parents have custody hearings or move away from each other. The decision to terminate an unhappy marriage through obtaining a divorce is almost never an easy decision. It is usually reached only after other options and alternatives have been carefully considered and then rejected as non-viable
The essay will discuss how children brought up in addicted households are affected and the effects on their adult lives. It also touches on how they handle their own families when they grow into adulthood. Although addiction can present itself in many different ways such as gambling, food or sexual, for the purpose of this essay the author will describe how a family is affected by substance abuse. Divorce is tragic on many levels and all too often the impact on children is more then just the shock of their parents living in two different places. Other then “deal breakers” which could have physical or psychological damage to a child, society needs to take another look at why they are getting
One of the most harmful effects of divorce on children is the stress that accompanies it. Stress can elevate very quickly and cause many harmful side effects such as unhealthy sleep and eating habits, nervous habits, and depression. “Untreated depression is the number one cause for suicide” according to Kevin Caruso of Suicide Prevention, Awareness and Support. Children can also develop a grudge against a parent or parents, especially if one is more at fault than the other. The cause of most of the separations in the United States is unfaithfulness.
First, they have more health problems and have less access to quality medical care, which means that they miss school more often than upper or middle class children. They may also lack in social or coping skills, and their behavior issues can lead to suspensions or expulsions. Their poor attendance can contribute to their learning difficulties. . Schools in high poverty areas tend to be located in more dangerous neighborhoods.
