Gabrielle Lener National Honor Society Acceptance Request Letter 11th grade The Race Towards My Academic Goal When I first received the invitation to apply to the National Honor Society (N.H.S), my initial thoughts were of appreciation for the recognition of my hard work during these past academic years. To think of myself as a member of the N.H.S is an honor that could have a profound impact on the future I would like to achieve. Over the past several years, I have driven myself to be self-motivated and I knew the only person that could do that was myself. To be considered a member of this prestigious organization is both an honor and a challenge to continue to improve my mind and leadership roles as I embark upon the journey of a higher education. Being chosen as a candidate for membership of the N.H.S has caused me to reflect on my personal achievements. While my ongoing strive for academic excellence is a main priority, I also know to be a member of N.H.S you need to be a well-rounded student. My extracurricular activities, leadership qualities, involvement in the community, and my work ethic is compatible with the caliber of past and future leaders of National Honor Societies. If someone can excel in extracurricular activities as well as school, in my eyes, that is what it takes to succeed not only in school but life. I was a competitive gymnast from age three to thirteen, and then went right into making the Shelby Jr. High School 7th grade volleyball team. I became interested in cheerleading for competitive season and loved it. Sadly, it was the same time as volleyball so I chose to commit myself to my cheerleading career. I made the varsity competitive cheer team as a freshman which is extremely rare and only a select few actually achieve. Cheerleading season goes from June till the following march.
