My interpersonal skills have all been sharpened because of this endeavor. As a leader, I also have a better understanding for using the strengths of those willing to help and I’ve learned of the necessity of listening to others. I feel that a cheerleader should be able to influence others with a strong school spirit as well as address any emotional needs in case problems may occur within the team. Education is also very important; I participate on our school UIL team for Journalism and in my community as part of the Youth and Gospel choirs. I want to be a positive role model to all the young children in our community, and show them that if you set your mind to do it you can achieve anything with hard work and dedication.
I know that every soul that has been in band will take their experiences and apply them to reach their lifelong goals. Overall, being in an extracurricular activity has taught me how to be a dedicated student, worker, leader, or citizen of our country. There are so many unforgettable experiences that I will apply to all that I do and achieve. Extracurricular activities are an important factor for us to reach our goals. It prepared us mentally for the upcoming “real world” which isn’t really taught in
Being successful inside and outside of the classroom is something I want to accomplish. Being a part of a community such as the honors college will give me additional motivation to be academically successful. I enjoy giving my time and services to others in need. I am always interested in volunteering, but right now I just do not know how. There are resources offered at the honors college I plan on taking advantage of, that offer exploring ways to help out in the community and on campus.
I will do this by conveying to them the importance of having a strong set of moral convictions and beliefs, and how this can help them establish who they are as individuals. I will also stress the importance of creativity to them in order to help open up their minds to new ideas with regards to mind and body. I will schedule a meeting once a week with every player on the team. During this meeting I will give them opportunities to respond to questions that I have prepared. From this, my students will be able to express their individuality and I can help them develop this.
The Vanguard has a rich history of educating young people, not only about music and the arts, but about life-long lessons and values. They were founded upon standards of excellence, respect and tradition. They were formed in Santa Clara in 1967 by Gail Royer. First known as The Sparks drum and bell corps. The parents didn’t approve of the switch to a drum corps, so Royer started anew drum and let the kids name it, and they picked Vanguard, which is by definition: the leading position of a movement, field, or cultural trend.
I also hope to learn many different types of dance and understand where they developed. I like to hope that this class will help me learn to be more fluent with my motions and that I will be able to achieve the basic concept rhythm. I hope that through dance I will be able to use it as a stress reliever and that my body will take well to the new adventure it is about to endure. I’d like to take away new skills from the class and be able to use them to achieve fluent dance movements and become one with my body. I am excited to see the way in which my mind and body will connect together as one.
Why did I enroll in JROTC? I always seek places for improvement. I thought that JROTC would help me to find ways to improve on my weaknesses and help me to strengthen my strengths even more. JROTC main mission is to “motivate young people to become better citizens”, and I want to be a part of those young people. This program also builds leaders.
“Bridge Builders seeks to develop among high school students a group of future leaders who can lay aside individual and cultural differences and work for the benefit of all.” This is the mission statement for Bridge Builders which is a program that I participated in my junior year of high school, and now actively involved with my senior year. The program, without a doubt, lives up to its mission statement. During the program we participated in leadership, personal, and team building activities. The program’s methods taught me how to be a great leader in any situation, whether I was leading myself or a group. I also made life-long friendships, and I am still meeting new people at our meetings that we have during the school year.
I am involved in many activities in an out of school. I keep myself busy at school by participating in the H.O.P.E. Medical Academy, where They help me strive to my career and the future I dream to have, In Key Club, where I can give back to my community, I go to Teen Court, where I can restore peace and bring back justice to this world, and my favorite and I personally think is the most important, Marching band. Marching band is more that a group of people who play instruments, it’s a family. The bonds we create during the season last forever.

Applying my skills of bring my teammates up by looking for best in them, treating them all the same, evaluating my goals along with team’s goals consistently, analyzing out work and data for outcomes, and helping to fix and problems that arise. By providing these skills to my team can become beneficial especial if my teammates have skills and strengths that I lack in. This is what creates a successful team, using everyone’s strengths. Not only will using these skills in a team setting but using them on project and assignments to achieve high quality results will be optimal.
