I believe that I should be head cheerleader because I am dedicated to everything that I do. I’ve been cheerleading since the age of five years old, and on a varsity level for two. I’ve participated on an All- Star team for two years. I’ve also served as the Youth Praise Dance Leader at my church for 6 years. My interpersonal skills have all been sharpened because of this endeavor.
Having the privilege of being the number one in middle school gave me the opportunity to go to a very good High School. In this institution I did my freshman year. During this year I took the advantages of my hard work and of my skills. I was the president of my class. I had to organize all the events of my class and it includes a lot of responsibility.
Watching Kobe play basketball during the 2010 NBA playoffs made me want to try out for my high school basketball team. I decided that I was going to dedicate that summer to emulate Kobe. Just like Kobe, I was fueled to be the best. I had that same internal fire burning within me and the same drive that was going to propel me onto a varsity basketball roster. It is common knowledge that the fear of failure is what drives Kobe to his infinite pursuit of excellence.
Michael Jordan tried out for his high school basketball team and was cut because he was too short. From that point on, Michael Jordan set out to prove that he would be the best NBA player to ever play the game of basketball. Michael Jordan was born in 1963 in New York. His family moved to North Carolina when he as a toddler. Michael Jordan went on to attend college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was an all-star player.
Everyone always says “High School is the best years of your life.” And to me that sounds like a pretty big statement to live up to. How is High school supposed to be this amazing time when people don’t want to get involved in anything, because everything is boring, or lame, or none of our friends are going? If you elect me as class president, I volunteer myself as one of these leaders, to guide you to success and an amazing sophomore year. And lastly, as your sophomore class president, I would just like to say, this is high school. We only have four years here - and think about how quickly our first year has already
I will proudly wear my ‘Firebird Pride’ into college next year, along with all of the redeeming qualities I have learned from all of my experiences. I would not trade my high school experience for any other school because Kettering has presented infinite opportunities for me to grow as a person, an athlete, and a member of the
Since then, I maintained my grade with a 3.3-3.8 GPA throughout my high school years. Besides from keeping up my grades, I have also joined in other clubs such as: California Scholarship Federation, Young Hmong Scholar and FHA- Hero. Knowing that keeping me involved with many different activities and the possession of a high GPA will benefit me, then I will carry on this routine until I reach my goal. Each high school year got more difficult but I was able to take on the challenge, because I knew that if I couldn’t handle a busy high school day, I wouldn’t make it in college either. Therefore, I plan to take a four year college at California State of University and at least get a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree.
As the sweet sixteen approaches, and the brackets are broken, the most sought after prediction for the March Madness is, “Who will win?” This question can easily be answered. The University of Louisville will win. Located in Louisville, Kentucky, the red and black Cardinals are looking to repeat their success as national champions twice in a row. Headed by 13 year coach, Rick Pitino, the men’s basketball team won the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships this season over the Huskies, who are also part of this year’s sweet sixteen. Ending the regular season in 31-5, the cardinals are looking to keep their winning ways with them as they head into the sweet sixteen.
During my high school career, I have put a lot of effort forward in my schoolwork and have challenged myself with advanced courses. I have successfully been competing against my other classmates to try and be the best I can be. I have received honor roll every semester of my high school career. Being selected as a potential candidate for NHS proves my academics, but what makes me a great candidate is not just my average. It is difficult to narrow down many instances in which I have showed great leadership.
Brittany Jordan English 095 YI Ms. White August 17, 2012 What motivates me to come to DCCC is achieving a goal that I always wanted and to become more successful with myself and make my parents very proud of me.
