It seemed as if I was experiencing hell at one place and time in my life, I needed someone or something to become a safety net, a resting place, a sign of hope. I found God through all the craziness in my past and I found him to be everything I need. It seems as if I can count on him more than anyone in my life from him restoring me mind body and soul. He is the most important person in my life, he rescued me when I couldn’t hang on he told me to hold on. I believe that if he didn’t come when he did, I would literally be lost and because of him showing and making me feel that I am somebody, through compassion and overwhelming love I wouldn’t have achieved and conquered the things that I have
Unfortunately, I’ve learned the hard way that sadly not all people are good. I tend to face myself against reality when I don’t want to see the negative in situations. Which is why I have set making good friends as one of my goals. I believe that a friend should never hold you back from your dreams and instead they should be there to help and guide you through the bad, the good, and the ugly. They should be a support system and be there for you as much as you would be there for them and it’s always nice to have good influences as you grow into adulthood.
My plans are to not only use education as a tool to prepare myself for a profession, but also to help me become a self sufficient individual who is fully prepared for life. Continuing my education in counseling has been my ultimate goal. Now, I will be able to help others by providing the necessary orientation in aspects of life such as: marriage, substance abuse that can make a difference in society. My parents did not realize all the important values I had learned from them. I believe that those values lead me to pursue my goals.
My parents really believed in shaping me into a good person when i was younger. When i was younger my parents would always scold me if I was thinking about the negative side of the situation instead of the positive side. This belief is "core" for me because it will take you places you have never thought
He believed in digging deep to find the passion and desire you did not realize you had. He criticized when he needed to and gave praise when there was room. He taught me to never settle for mediocre. Today, I take his leadership and apply it to my everyday life by striving above and beyond what people expect. Life Purpose There use to be a time when I was not sure of my life purpose.
Another was to better myself and be a constant provider for my family. You see I am also a single mother and have to do this alone and I knew with an education it would make it a little easier. Though it would not be easy getting there, in the end it would. The benefits of getting my degree in education are many. One main benefit that comes with mydegree is my love for children.
Thank God- that I have been able to succeed in most of my goals. Despite the things that I went through in life, I thank Adversity for being in my life because it has made me prepare for future challenges. Also, it has helped me to recognize the importance in gaining my education to better my life and that of my daughter. I believe that though I am now a single mother, having my education will open doors for me and make me a good role model for my
Chelsey Sousa March 29, 2013 Alternatives for Youth Foundation Since being committed, involvement with DYS has made a difference in my life in many positive ways. DYS has helped me receive my G.E.D, obtain and keep a job, find my true self and build a better self-esteem and develop a better relationship with my family; all of these things that will help me in the future. When I first got committed to DYS, I have to admit I wasn’t a big fan of school. My caseworker helped me to get involved in the GED program and classes held in the Young Women’s Center in Springfield, Ma. I started taking these classes In July 2012 every Thursday.
I had to keep a positive mind set as best I could. I would feel sad and sometimes depressed when I knew my family was going to get together for an event. My mom always did the best she could to help me cope with this situation. She was always there for me. She kept me in a positive mind.
Everyday things happen to us that seem like the worst thing in the world but people who are mentally strong see through it. We have loved ones 2 leave us and we think that it is so bad but we pull out because we know that there is more for us. Knowing what you want in life and going after it is another form of mental strength. When we know what kind of career we want to pursue and we go to school and do everything we can we have to be mentally strong. Spiritual strength comes with believing in something.
