Keeping Driving Age at 16!

Every teens dream is to be able to drive his or her own car! I’m one kid who wants to drive at 16; but some people want to change the driving age to 17, even 18. Driving can be a rite of passage for some kids. It gives teens some freedom; it lets them help their parents out when needed, and gives them their own space! The driving age should stay at 16 in Washington State for a number of reasons. The current driving age is 16 years old; with other states rising the driving age up to 18 I am worried our state will follow in their foot steps! Currently there are 6 states with a driving age higher then 16 years of age, most of them having the driving age at 16 and 6 months, and 17 years of age; but the states are thinking of moving the driving age even higher! In my opinion; I think the driving age should stay at 16. A good driver is someone who has experience behind the wheel. So it would make since that having experience behind would be a good thing right? Moving the driving age up to 17 years and even 18 years of age would mean they would have to bump the legal learner permit up to either 16 years or 17 years of age which would mean teens would have less experience behind the wheel! Driving is like learned skill like playing sports, or playing a game; and every skill needs to be taught, and the earlier you’re taught the skill, the better you’ll be at it!
