As the General Manager of a new Bicycle manufacturing business, the first area of my plan I would develop would be to honor diversity in my employment practices. Minorities are the fastest-growing segment currently in the United States and based on the past growth rates; they will be growing at a faster rate than white males based on projections from 2004 through 2014. In regards to the age ranges of different groups, the 16-24 year old group is currently growing more rapidly than the overall population between 2000 and 2010. Similar statistics are also being noticed globally as other countries around the world continue to increase diversity in the workplace. His theory found states that these motivation factors affect one dimension ranging from satisfaction to no satisfaction. Other workplace characteristics which are the hygiene factors range from dissatisfaction to no dissatisfaction. In order to implement these theories into my plan, I would combine compensation incentives directly with specific performance objectives in order to encourage my employees to excel at work. Bonuses would be handed out to the top performers who meet or exceed their goals to keep a high level of commitment to the company. Another employee practice I would implement is an employee recognition program which can boost employee morale and self-esteem by allowing them to move into leadership positions within the company and fulfill their personal ambitions. As a manufacturing company, I would make sure that there is also a high value on employee safety by ensuring that all workers are thoroughly trained on the processing equipment and have frequent safety meetings to make sure standards are being met. Emphasizing the importance of a safe work environment will help satisfy employee security needs. Accountability is essential in my plan as it ensures that employees, managers and company are held responsible for the daily decision, actions, products, and policies that are made and consequences that those have on others. Balance is important as part of my plan includes that the company respects the work-life balance that employees need in order to be satisfied by offering the flexible work schedules. Commitment matters in my company as we all have a passion to create great products and services to our customers and meet their needs as best we can. Honoring diversity is a high priority for our company as we rely so much on our diverse teams made up of unique individuals from a variety of backgrounds. It’s important that all employees are well trained and fully prepared to work with different individuals as well as having diverse leaders who will ensure that those values are maintained throughout the company. Safety is the last value I would establish in our company as all employees operating the manufacturing equipment are well trained to be functional on the job. Frequent safety meetings and constant feedback from managers will be essential to ensuring that safety standards are being met in our company to prevent any potential harm to individuals or those around
