How Others’ Perceive Me Stephanie Hamman Com/200 Foundation of Interpersonal Communication July 29, 2013 Claudia Owen How Others’ Perceive Me * What is perception * “Perception is the process of experiencing your world and then making sense out of what you experience” (Beebe, Beebe & Redmond. 2011. P. 62). From a young age our parents influence us to make the right decisions but when the child is grown it is his or her responsibility to make decisions that will affect his or her own perception. The way a person acts and treats other people is a direct reflection on the way he or she is perceives, it is the art of judging a person’s actions. If a person wants to be perceived in a positive way, he or she should know what his or her short comings are and improve on his or her weaknesses. I agree with this perception, I try to help people out in the best way I can; whether it is covering someone shift at work, giving someone a ride home, or just anything I can do the make some else’s day much better. I believe in what the Bible states in Luke 6:31, “And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise” (The Bible, KJV). I would hope that if I were kind, generous, and good-hearted to someone that person would treat me the same way. In the Peer Perception Survey provided by University of Phoenix, my peers described me as a responsible, dependable, persistent, and an outgoing person. I agree with every assumption that is being stated, I strive to keep these words as goal to achieve on a day in and day out basis. I strive to become the best person I can be in my professional and causal life.
