Johnston Professor Nelson Torres Strategic Management: BUS 490 February 3, 2012 Hardee's Food Systems, Inc. operates a chain of fast food restaurants in the Midwestern and Southeastern United States. It offers biscuits, breakfast food products, charbroiled burgers, various sides, desserts, beverages, and chicken and other products. The company also provides franchisees to operate restaurants. Hardee's Food Systems, Inc. was formerly known as Hardee's Drive-Ins, Inc. and changed its name to Hardee's Food Systems, Inc. in May 1961. The company was founded in 1960 and is based in St. Louis, Missouri. Hardee's Food Systems, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of CKE Restaurants, Inc. Hardee’s expects its employees to be friendly at all times and set a positive example for others; they do this by smiling and making eye contact with thir Guests and being upbeat and positive throughout the day. They believe that friendly employees are the key to providing what they call “Six Dollar Service,” which means immediately greeting their Guests with a big smile and a warm greeting, being polite and looking for ways to assist their guests to make Guest visit more enjoyable. It also means smiling as Guests leave, thanking them for coming to Hardee's and saying goodbye. Hardee’s also expect that all employees are friendly to each other as well; making Hardee's a positive, enjoyable and fun place to work. Hardee’s is always looking for people who are excited to come to work each day and are enthusiastic about working in a fast paced, dynamic and sometimes challenging work environment. Hardee’s expects its employees to show an eagerness to learn as much as they can and to show a sense of pride and ownership for their work.
