Unit 5 – P1 Define key terms associated with a healthy lifestyle Fitness Having a healthy lifestyle doesn’t only affect the way you look or feel it affects four key terms, these are your fitness, health, well being, nutrition and lifestyle. If you are trying to lead a healthy lifestyle your fitness is probably the most important thing to work on. Working on your fitness will ensure your using and working your body to the best of its ability which will benefit you in the long run. To improve your fitness you don’t have to necessary go for two hour runs everyday all you need to do is simply boost your levels of general daily activity, doing this can have a massive improvement on your health and energy. Your fitness is important because it has a major affect on your way of life.
Unit 31: Exercise, Health and Lifestyle P3 & M3: In this factsheet I will give Archie strategies on how to improve his lifestyle therefore assisting him for his future aspirations of joining the public services. These strategies will mean going through each of the 5 lifestyle factors and how each of them can improve his lifestyle. Increasing physical activity levels Physical activity doesn't need to be complicated. Something as simple as a daily brisk walk can help you live a healthier life. For example, regular brisk walking can help you: • Maintain a healthy weight • Prevent or manage various conditions, including heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes • Strengthen your bones • Lift your mood • Improve your balance and coordination The faster, farther and more frequently you walk, the greater the benefits.
Secondly, in this paragraph I will be talking about the physical needs and the intellectual needs for the elderly diet. I received some of my information from this website: www.cdc.gov . I learned that as an older adult, regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Doing physical activity can help prevent many of the health problems that seem to come with age. It can also help your muscles grow stronger so you can keep doing day to day activities without becoming dependent on others.
We all know that exercise can sustain and improve our health, which is necessary for living a life of wellness, but what is not always known is how exercise can affect other aspects of our lives. Exercise is not only physical, it is also psychological. Exercise can do more for a person than just help them lose a few pounds, or maintain a healthy weight. Exercise controls weight. Most weight loss programs will not work without an exercise routine along with a structured diet plan.
As result of being stronger, I am able to increase my performance in sports. I also have more endurance to perform everyday tasks. While I strengthen my muscles and bones, it also will help prevent any injuries to myself. Weight lifting makes me feel better about myself. By lifting, I feel like I am benefiting myself in mind, and body.
Regular exercises and physical activities are important to the physical and mental health of almost everyone, including older adults. Being physically active can help adults continue to do the things they enjoy and stay independent as they age. Regular physical activity over long periods of time can produce long-term health benefits. In addition, regular exercise and physical activity can reduce the risk of developing some diseases and disabilities that develop as people grow older. In some cases, exercise is an effective treatment for many chronic physical and mental conditions such as heart diseases, diabetes, arthritis, and Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia.
It can be just simple exercise that is easily integrated into your everyday daily routine. Health is a major part of your life and simple changes to your lifestyle and choices can make a massive difference to your overall health. The overall health improvement will leave you with more energy and help your concentration, which will make day to day tasks easier and more enjoyable to complete as you won’t feel drained by the end of it. (Gill Jenkins, 2010) Physical health Physical health is how your body works and is assessed like a machine by levels of fitness, the better your fitness, the better physical health you have and the better your body will work, it will be more efficient. There are many things that effect physical health within your body; the cardiovascular system which is all about heart strength, cholesterol and blood pressure; the respiratory system, how fitness effects your breathing and the oxygen getting to your muscles and organs; skeletal system and how fitness effects your bones, the strength of them and the condition of the bones; Weight control which effects most of the above factors and a main benefit of being healthy as weight can have a massive effect negatively or positively on your overall health.
There are numerous benefits of exercising in groups. It adds in an element of variety in the workout routine as you get to discover something new every day. Regular exercising also leads to increased levels of comfort and a development deep-rooted camaraderie between participating members. There is a certain kind of accountability that encourages an individual to wake up early or allot some time during the day in order to show up to the group workout session. This leads to an increase in the frequency as well as duration of the exercising in the long run.
Some coaches even require that their team participate in specialized training. Therefore, doing these things either on a daily basis or at least a few times per week will result in forming good habits. “A habit is a practice that you engage in on a regular basis” (Clarke; livestrong.com). Developing healthy habits lays the foundation for routine and also has a big impact on emotional fitness. It allows for good mental health and a restful sleep, which helps avoid depression (Clarke; livestrong.com) I, myself have witnessed this first hand.
When working independently, people are much more productive and thus are able to finish their work more quickly, enabling them to spend more time with their family and friends and participate in physical activity, which increases their quality of life and overall happiness. Independent work not only allows the individual to control what goes into the project, but helps the individual to learn and create higher-quality finished products, which is the point of general work in the first place, isn’t it? Independent work creates superior quality and quantity of work to that produced in a group environment, and in less time. Fewer distractions enable the individual to maintain greater focus and clarity of ideas, resulting in a faster and more cohesive production of the work.
