The organisation I have chosen for this task is Tesco store manager Job Description. Tesco is a PLC company that sells product such as food, drinks, groceries and lot of different types of products. Tesco is the second largest retailer in the word when measured by profits and revenues. Tesco has stores in 12 countries across the Asia, Europe and North America. Tesco operates a grocery home shopping service, as well s providing consume goods, telecommunication and financial service one. Tesco’s UK stores are divided into six formats, differentiated by size and the range of products sold. * Tesco Extra * Tesco superstore * Tesco Metro * Tesco Express * One-stop * Tesco homeplus Other business: banking, fuel, tech support and telecoms. As the Tesco store manager you would be responsible for overall running of the store, a department or a specific area such as the checkout. A manager’s main area of work would involve reaching targets and increasing sales. They will also be involved in dealing with customer service issues such as queries and complaints, plus health and safety and security issues. Tesco’s store manager in spends the majority of their time on the shop floor, working alongside the team. When it comes to recruiting process, Tesco’s process of recruiting depends on the job that is available and mostly they do internal recruiting method. Before they recruit new staff and make a job advert. At first they look for their existing staff to fill the vacancies, this process lists current employees that looking for a move either at same level or promotion.
