Recruiting Employees Outline 1. Introduction. How does the recruitment process works? It depends on the company and what methods the company uses to find applicants for employment. Basically, recruitment is the process of seeking and attracting a pool of people from which qualified candidates for job vacancies can be chosen. In other words, “The process of attracting individuals on a timely basis, in sufficient numbers and with appropriate qualifications, to apply for jobs with an organization”.(Society for human resource management). Some companies work with recruiter to find applicants, especially for higher level jobs. Some other companies use social networking sites, official websites for job announcement and also TV, Radio and Newspaper to recruit. International Organizations which are huge and are more famous among people usually use their own organization’s official website for their recruitment process. 2. Steps of recruitment The process and the length of recruitment is different in different organizations. In order to increase efficiency in hiring and retention and to insure and to insure consistency and compliance in the recruitment and selection process it’s beneficial to follow the following steps. 1. Step 1: Identify Vacancy and Evaluate Need 2. Step 2: Develop Position Description 3. Step 3: Develop Recruitment Plan 4. Step 4: Select Search Committee 5. Step 5: Post Position and Implement Recruitment Plan 6. Step 6: Review Applicants and Develop Short List 7. Step 7: Conduct Interviews 8. Step 8: Select Hire 9. Step 9: Finalize Recruitment United Nation’s Development Program is an international organization which has its own recruitment policy.
