Environmental health is the division of public health that is concerned with all aspects of the natural and built environment that may have a diverse effect on human health. The first thing to understanding Environmental Health is to first understand how it affects one’s health. Environmental factors can cause diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, birth effects, allergies, cancer and/or food poisoning. These are just a few factors that can be the direct cause of pollution in our environment. Creating a healthy city is important because it helps our city to run successfully and it promotes growth within our city. Creating a healthy city should be every residents concern because it could affect anyone that we love, anyone that is close to us. By not consciously be aware of our surrounding and the things we do can definitely directly affect the ones around us. A lot of things that we do as a people can contribute to the pollution of our surroundings. Example: When we litter our streets, or when we drive vehicles that we know should not be on the streets because they are letting off bad fumes. I also believe a lot of the plants that are in our cities cause a huge problem with pollution because of some of the fumes that they give out. Some of these plants are in residential areas where our youth run play and have fun. Some different ways that our city can become healthy is by going green. Going green means to start doing things around your city to clean it up. One step is by recycling. Recycling can help to prevent waste of potentially useful materials.
