| Greasex Co. | Memo To: | Morganthal, G.M. | From: | Hank Kolb, Director of Quality Management | Date: | February 4, 2014 | Re: | Quality Recommendations | | | After an intense evaluating of the company, it has come to my attention that many of the employees are lacking a quality-focused mentality. To counter this obstacle, I am recommending the implantation of a world-renowned expert in total quality management. This person is Deming and his 14 points are exactly what this company needs. We will see result in not just the quality of our products, but the bottom line as well. We have included a video discussing these 14 points in detail and how they can benefit the company. However, to ensure that we begin taking advantage of these opportunities immediately it is recommended that we start with the following short-term goals: Forming a company wide mission statement and adopting its philosophy company wide. We also need training, company wide, to ensure that everyone is on the same page and confident in their decision making. Promoting Mr. Hamler to training manager will be a great asset to see this strategy done. We also need to do a recall on our recent shipment of greasex. The entire shipment was sent out with possibly faulty product and we don’t want injury, lawsuit, or returns to occur. These “faulty” shipments will stop once we have trained supervisors like Wayne Simmons on the consequences and hindrance of said decisions. Lastly, we need to empower our inspectors to have the authority to stop production when a bad sample is detected. This needs to happen before a bottle neck, as well, to ensure we do not waste time remanufacturing an order. We also have many long-term goals to discuss. They go as follows: Testing of the new bottle needs to be done to ensure safety to the end-user. Meanwhile, we will use the old style bottles
