Large numbers of Americans watch and participate in sports activities, which are a deeply ingrained part of American life. At the end of the 20th century, Americans were taking part in individual sports of all kinds—jogging, bicycling, swimming, skiing, rock climbing, playing tennis, as well as more unusual sports such as bungee jumping, hang gliding, and wind surfing. As Americans enjoy more leisure time, and as Hollywood and advertising emphasize trim, well-developed bodies, sports have become a significant component of many people's lives. Unlike organized sport, recreation is not encouraged competition. Some American prefers physical activity. Most popular adult play a high level of physical activity, like, jogging, running or rock climbing. It’s look like American carries their belief in hard word into their recreation. As the expression “we like to work hard and play hard”. There are many ways of physical fitness, people can work out in sport club or participating in aerobic exercise classes. Long distance marathon is also popular, these kind of race are usually open to all, even you old or young or in wheelchair. In addition to Boston and New York marathon, there are many races in many cities even in small towns. The high level of physical activity show that most American has difficulty relaxing, even in their leisure time, they say that they feel mentally relaxing, because those kinds of activity is different from their activity at work. Not all the people are interested in physical activity. Interest and participation in cultural activity is also popular. Millions of American go to concert live performances, museums, and participate in artistic activities such as painting, music or dancing.
