Her opinion piece, titled With training and love, they are devoted pets, is directed at those who fear pit bull terriers. She argues that the restrictions on pit bull terriers are both unnecessary and unfair. Pelen uses emotive language and imagery to tug at the reader’s heart strings and convince them of the dangers posed by pit bull terriers. She uses phrases such as ‘tragic death’, ‘senseless and needless’ and ‘viciously attacked’ to help the reader to visualise the attack. She uses an anecdote detailing a dog attack on her own family to establish her credibility and knowledge of the issue.
Damages and Remedies Under the Dog Owners Liability Act, the individual who experienced the damage does not have to prove that the dog’s owner was negligent, or the owner in any way caused that the dog’s behaviour. The owner does not have to have any knowledge of the dog’s tendency for biting people, which he or she required under the old “one bite” rule. All that has to be shown under the legislation is that the dog bit or attacked someone, and the owner is automatically liable for the dog’s actions. In the extent of liability when a person is gets bitten or attacked by a dog with the intent to commit a crime on the owner’s property, the dog’s owner is not liable “unless the keeping of the dog on the premises was unreasonable for the purpose of the protection of persons or property.” If someone has been attacked or bitten by a dog to receive damages, the law states that the judge should take the owner’s fault into account when calculating damages. This may increase or decrease the damages
The use of dogs in the opening chapter of the novel, further suggests that dogs will be important figures in the novel. Linking in to Heathcliff’s “savage” qualities in the novel (which are hugely linked to dogs) is his treatment of Isabella Linton’s springer, Fanny. Heathcliff uses a handkerchief to hang the dog by his neck on a bridle hook. The condition, in which Nelly finds Isabella’s dog, is a metaphor for Isabella’s situation in her relationship with Heathcliff; her physical maladies represent the restrictive nature that her marriage with Heathcliff will possess, like the dog who’s suffering results from the hanging. Aside from the suffering, the dog’s physical restrictions are also a representation of the new boundaries that Heathcliff presents to her life.
The owner also has a possibility of receiving a dog that has been pu through dog fighting. While the new owner doesn’t have to teach the older dog much if the previous owner taught the dog well, such as housebreaking and training stages, the owner still has a chance that the dog could have been beat and this will most likely mean the dog is aggressive that is really scared. While all dogs should have a home and be treated right there are many people out there that take their anger out on their dogs and fight their dogs for money. Other good reasons to buy an older dog is the fact the owner won’t have to spend as much money on shots and being sprayed or neutered. While buying a puppy, the owner will have to spend a great deal of money for worm shots neutering and other vet visits the puppy will need.
Dogs can be a man’s best friend but we must never underestimate how dangerous they can be as they are descendants of the Wolf they should not be held responsible, their owners should. All over the world in various nations pets can be classified and valued as much more than an animal with some owners in favour in agreeing that dogs have a responsibility of their own. But can dogs really be responsible? I believe they are a potential threat to society. Dangerous dogs should be analysed throughout the community as they are susceptible to negative behaviour.
By far, the most common breeds focused upon are the pit bull type breeds. BSL relies on the premise that all dogs of a certain breed are vicious by their very nature. BSL might require an additional registration fee for certain breeds of dogs, requires the dogs to be muzzled in public, or completely forbids the keeping of those dogs. Breed-specific legislation applies only to dogs of a certain appearance, not to any and all dogs. It does not take into account how the owner has raised, trained, or managed the dog.
Unnecessary Suffering Being undercover was my favourite way to get a story. Research is great, but experiencing something first hand is the way to go. No outside biases or sugar coated explanations, only hard cold facts. When I got the assignment to do a piece on the truth about animal testing, I knew the only way I could really uncover the truth was to go in and find out myself. I did some research and found a testing company that was looking for employees to help in their lab.
How is it that we think it is morally and ethically correct to cause pain and suffering to those animals? This paper will show you both the positive and negative aspects of animal research and how in the end it benefits humans. It will also show you how there are many people who think that there are other ways to research the new medicines and products for humans. How is the scientific research done on animals accomplished and how can they be improved, this paper should answer that question and hopefully open the eyes to those who do not have any moral misgivings about animal research. Another issue that pertains to animal testing is how the animals are treated while in the care of the research facilities and lastly, what is done with those animals when the testing is complete.
Orwell develops his essay through characters that perform their job responsibilities, through an appearance of a dog to show humanity, and through the inner conflict of the narrator as he participates in and observes the execution. Orwell uses a dog as a device to demonstrate humanity towards capital punishment. The dog’s unexpected appearance at the hanging makes the officers think of themselves. As the dog runs up to the prisoner being executed, the hanging is interrupted. The dog does not recognize a difference between the prisoner and the officers; the dog sees the prisoner as a human being who is able to love or be loved and play with the dog.
There is no excuse for animal abuse they also have the accurate to live right as well humans, they need comfort and to live freely. And one thing also, don’t adopt the animal if you going to mistreat them. Animals are not toys they feel the pain just like us human but the difference is they cannot tell us to stop. It is more that can care more about what happens to animals than what happens to people, people can stop abuse, people can say no but the animals cannot. It is important that people know how to take care of them right and know the importance of them in our living and in our environment as well.
