Academic Dishonesty: Analysis about Cheating in Examinations For centuries, academic dishonesty was the theme of many researchers’ investigations, and was defined as any deceptive act in a formal academic assignment. Last decade, these studies concentrated on cheating in examinations, which is an act of fraud by using or attempting to use unauthorised assistance in any kind of evaluation. Although cheating in examinations was used differently and effectively by many students for many reasons, its worse feedbacks always return on them. Thus, this paper will discuss the ways students were and are considering and using in cheating, the causes that inspires this wrongdoing idea and the resulting consequences sooner or later. It seems that students cheaters are still using the same traditional cheating methods both cooperatively and individually as well as others that are more developed. Everyone should be familiar now with the old-fashioned tactics that are utilised either through collaborating with other students in the exam room by, for example, copying directly from another student via stealing glances at his large print (see figure 1by Ambr Chalia ,2011) and tricking the teacher by passing another student as you; or individually by, for instance, writing notes on different places [School Furniture and supplies, body parts (see figure 2 by Ambr Chalia ,2011), and IDs], preparing some cheat sheets and hide it in unsuspected places like belts and not hand in the test and later claiming it was missed. The usage of the former known methods in addition to others that are more advanced and efficient helped the increasing of students’ cheating (McCabe and Treviño, 1996:31); however, the cause of this continuous raise is identified in the research paper of Curran, Middleton and Doherty, (2011) about cheating in exams with technology, stating that the excession of
