3 day Food Tracker Science Nutrition [SCI/241] Date: March 31st 2013 University of Phoenix Abstract The following assignment is in partial fulfillment of the course Nutrition for University of Phoenix. In this assignment I will be explaining the results of my diet that I tracked over a three day period, using the Food Tracker program provided by the USDA website. Eating right has always been a challenge for me. It seems natural for an individual to be influenced into eating food that traditionally is not healthy for them, especially in the society that we currently live in. I soon discovered that my eating habits were not as ideal as they should be. This typically is not a subject I care too much about discussing or analyzing because to be honest, I like my body. But unfortunately we have become obsessed with our weight as a society that there is absolutely no way to avoid being bartered about our weight and eating habit. Though this is a subject that I personally could care less about, I still continued to monitor my eating habits. Over the passed three days I have discovered that though, personally I feel comfortable with my eating habit, that there were some areas that I could develop more. In comparison with the Food Pyramid, I do not follow the ideal serving size. I do not consume many vegetables (to start) or dairy products (since I am Lactose intolerant). However, I do make up the lack of calcium and minerals by digesting supplements (which are not an ideal source of nutrients but in difficult living situations, such as the one I am in currently, it is the best option) and occasionally eating food that is high in calcium, such as spinach or non-lactose milk. I have also discovered, in this comparison that I could cut down on my carbohydrate intake. My body goes on various food craving periods.
