Presentation: What do you believe are the factors that cause youth violence among youth in your country? Are they different from other countries? Discuss. Members of the panel, youths, audience good day. The privilege was given to me to speak on the topic what are the factors that cause violence among the youth in the country. According to Dictionary.com, violence can be term as an extreme form of aggression, such as assault, rape or murder and it has many causes, including frustration. Violence can also be termed as a behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage or kill someone. Violence by young people is one of the most visible forms of violence both fatal and non-fatal assaults involving young people contribute greatly to the global burden of primitive death, injury and disability. Youth violence deeply harms not only its victims but also their families, friends and communities. There are close links between youth violence and other forms of violence. Violent young people frequently commit a range of crimes and display other social and psychological problems. In the decade 1985-1994, youth homicide rates increased in many parts of the world, a growth associated in many cases with a more frequent use of guns as the method of attack. For every young person killed by violence, an estimated 20-40 receive injuries that require hospital treatment. The main risk factors for youth violence, firstly let us deal with the individual factors. The principle personality and behavioral factors linked with youth violence are: • Hyperactivity • Impulsiveness • Poor behavioral control • Attention problems • History of early aggressive behavior • Low educational achievement There is also violence that is influence by family and peers.
