Why People Go to College

Most people attend college because they want to better themselves and succeed in life. Making the decision to go to college is one of the hardest choices you have to make in life. Here are some of the reasons you would you might want to go to college: Better education, Play on a college sports team, or maybe just go for the insane parties. It all just depends on what kind of personality you have and what you want to do with your life. To start out with, Partying is a popular reason among most students to go to college. Personally, I am not the partying type of person, but occasionally I will go out some nights and have a blast with my friend’s. I have been given the talk multiple times by my parents of the crazy situations you will get yourself in if you do not how to control yourself, and limit yourself to the amount of partying and drinking you can do in one night. I have learned to observe other people and even my own family that if you cannot control how much you drink at one sitting you should not be drinking alcohol. According to an article in “Addictive Behavior,” students have a tendency to drink more at an organized off-campus party than at an on-campus party. One of the sayings I heard many times was “The Freshman 15,” this was the motto many freshman lived, by gaining fifteen pounds in the first semester from partying constantly and drinking excessively. Partying is not so bad once in awhile it just gets harmful when you start partying everyday. In addition, Education is the most crucial aspect in life if you want to be successful.
