Being a Christian involves devout prayer and good deeds for others. In points fifty-two through fifty-five Luther expressed the importance of spending time preaching the word, instead of spending time talking about pardons. Points fifty-six through sixty-eight state that it is natural to want riches and the men of the Church had many treasures, but Luther advised the greatest treasure could be found in the Holy Word and in the Grace of God. Again, in points sixty-nine through eight-one Luther warns the people of trusting in the letters of pardon and confusing them with true forgiveness and salvation. Only repentance
One of God’s greatest desires is to have relationship with His creation, man. He wants nothing more than to be loved and believed. Our love and belief is demonstrated through worship and godly lifestyle. Many people have a form of worship, but with no substance or true understanding of what it is all about. Many minimizes worship simply as the singing of songs, or leaving it up to the worship team to “set the atmosphere”, without any participation from the congregation.
When you look at the views today, many people are believing today that we don’t need God, and he’s not who everyone thought he was. The society we live in each person has a different view on religion and God, and they assume that people will make fun of them for what they believe in. One person should not care what other people think about them if you believe in God and what he says makes you feel good about yourself don’t let anyone get in the way of that. God will always be there for you and for the people what want to make fun of
Each type of chaplaincy has its unique characteristics but overall a chaplain’s duty is to provide for the spiritual wellbeing of those he is serving, no matter which field he chooses. In each different field chaplains are able to fill a role that full time pastors cannot. Since chaplains are out among those they are ministering too, they have a level of access that pastors do not. However just like pastors, chaplains must have a personal conviction for the work they do. “Outside of assurance of personal conversion to Christ, no other spiritual conviction will help a pastor in his journey more than a firm conviction that God has called him to preach.
Dr. Johnson's primary focus of the book is to explain the six different evangelism styles, look at the strengths and weaknesses of each style, and how each style relates biblically to evangelism. Evangelism, I believe was associated with something unnatural or forced, and it sometimes felt uncomfortable and threatening. Now, why it was thought of this way, I do not know, because how can sharing something so good makes so many feel so bad. After reading this book, I understand now that most people are doing evangelism in a way contrary to the way God made them. Dr. Johnson give fair treatment to each style, and he not only offers a variety of approached for Christians to consider using, but he also does not promote one style as superior to another.
• Jehovah’s witnesses differ from other religious groups by their belief in the leader in the church or religion. Jehovah’s witnesses have no human leader. They have a high value on moral living. Also, they do not take part in gambling, anal sex, oral sex, over drinking, abortions, and wars for they believe it is part of sin. Jehovah’s witnesses believe in the bible like many other religious groups.
Naturalist do not believe in more than just matter, they look at things as if I cannot see it then it is not there. However, as a Christians, I believe in more and I know our God is out there helping us through our lives. Naturalist look at us as machines that all of our emotions and such are just reactions in our brains, but Christians believe that everything we do is the creation of God. Secular humanist and Christians are so different I use my religion to help stay in line. Secular humanist feel that religion is really a negative thing because it gives you rules to follow therefore you never really follow your deepest desires.
Habakkuk is one of the good guys. He fears God and does what is right, but it is getting him no where. [footnote3] Habakkuk’s question to god is extremely demonstrative of two important factors of faith. The first faction his question deals with is the attitude of most righteous people, he is completely outraged by all the
In this same song, “Well, see what you want to see, you should see it all”, refers to Christians only seeing the good in God and only credit him when great things happening without acknowledging the bad things, such as disease and natural disaster, as being His fault. Religion puts blinders on people. In, “Parting of the Sensory”, the lyrics say, “We put all our chips in all the right spots but still lost” , which is another example of people praying and doing everything that the Christianity religion tells them is right but still are plagued with bad things in life. Another song representing this same idea is, “3rd Planet”, which says, “Your heart felt good , it was dripping pitch and made of wood. And your hands and knees felt
It is noted that you need a personal intimate relationship with God thru his son Jesus Christ. In (Deuteronomy 11:13) it states simply you should love your neighbor as you do yourself. Christianity is about relationships with God, not to simply follow the tenants of religion. 4) QUESTION OF MORALITY: Morality is the difference between right and wrong, a how you should live your life. In (Psalm 5:15) IT states that man is born a sinner and cannot save himself.
