It seems the media is growing more powerful with time which is, in my opinion, both good and bad. The media takes full advantage of their first amendment right and the freedom of the press. The media has three main roles and responsibilities to the American public, which I will cover in detail. I will explain how these responsibilities fit in with my current events project on our economy. Our politicians have a great influence over what the media reports as well.

In this essay we will discuss if information media has social responsibility, the role information and news media plays in the shaping of political opinions, the way news reporting changed with the advent of the Internet and converging media, and how electronic media and their convergence transformed journalism and news consumption. Information media, or news media does have a very profound effect on today’s society and this is why it is an absolute must that today’s news media has social responsibility. Millions of Americans rely the news media every day to inform them on what is going on around the world. So it is very important that the news media not only report the news without bias but also report the news in a manner that does not depict one person or a group of people to be the “bad guys”. It is imperative that Americans form their own opinions and not the media for them.
News corporations attract viewers’ attention in order to make money, basically benefiting themselves. Networks attract viewers to increase ratings, so that when they would get more advertisers, meaning more profit that they will obtain. News bias make audiences reflect upon the truth of the stories that are being portrayed. There are several deception stories in which the News denied on releasing these types of stories, but in truth, they really are exaggerated perspectives of their own. TV news simply reflects only on one side of the story, and leaves the viewer the other side of the story untold; this is the reason why TV news is biased.
It is however linked to one’s experience while growing up. Some parents are known to narrate stories to their kids on how tough their life was while growing up and may at times end up differing on issues. In such eventualities, some tend to resort to violence as a means to express their anger. While doing so, rarely does it achieve its intended goal as hoped, but could at times only harden kids at such a tender age (Gershoff). Such kids could grow up in anger and result in more violence.
It can cause confusion, which can then lead to stress, which can then result in aggressive behavior from the child. Spanking is a form of punishment which typically involves the punisher (usually an adult) striking the person that is being punished (usually a child) either with their hand, a belt, or some other instrument. Spanking is commonly used in situations where adults want the child to immediately stop whatever it is they’re doing wrong, which is why some people would consider spanking to be a good thing. “Spare the rod, spoil the child” is a phrase I’ve heard at least a hundred times throughout my life. This phrase simply means if you don’t give the child a spanking when they deserve it, you’re teaching them that their behavior is ok. A typical spanking (a couple swats with a hand) may be physically harmless; however, it can get out of hand.
They can hurt themselves, and they can lose interest in school, friends and activities that they used to enjoy. Now there are also warning signs when someone is the bully and these are; they become violent with others, they get into physical and verbal fights easily, they have extra money or things and they cannot explain where they

These speakers and authors were helpful in being informative not just doing the “Hollywood gossip talk”. This gossip that goes around in the world only makes the situation harder on
If they do not act or do the things that others do they are bullied. Being bullied can mean being laughed at, made fun of , they could be physically abused and there are some that have even been murdered as the result of a cruel joke. Going through these physical changes affect the children today in ways that some could not imagine. The reason for this is that it is like a new identity that they have to have and they have to search for the one they need to become. They believe because physically their bodies are changing they have to become a different person.
Although, media mostly responds to the negative stories, they cover the positive ones too. The media can influence society by proving more coverage when people in all cultures and races come together in certain situations to help with the act of kindness. For example, during an event that someone needs help all people come together to help regardless of race, ethnicity, color, religion, or other factors. The media is also coming out with more television shows and movies that portray actors of all nationalities, sexual orientations, gender, beliefs, and culture that once were prohibit. These shows and movies help the acceptance into society.
